Publisher's summary

This is a very, very sad story. The characters suffer terrible tragedies. People die in unspeakable ways. Only a truly horrible person would be amused by their misfortune.

Nevertheless, it is kind of funny.

My advice is that you listen to this all by yourself. People can be judgy.

If you’re a fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events, Edward Scissorhands, or the darkest bits of Roald Dahl, the Weirdie triplets - Barnacle, Garlic, and Melancholy - will feel like old friends. After being left behind when the entire estate of Deadeye Manor is packed up for a doomed vacation cruise, the triplets have to learn how to fend for themselves. (When a staff of 200 servants has taken care of your every need, even brushing your own teeth is a mountainous task.) From their time at the Our Lady of the Perpetual Side-Eye Orphanage to their adoptive home on picture-perfect Sunshine Circle, the Weirdies have a lot to learn about the world...but, at least, they have each other.

Hysterical and dark!!!

This is hilarious, dark, and goes places you never thought it would. Kate Winslet is the perfect person to narrate this troubling yet absolutely hysterical story! I kept thinking of it like a Tim Burton movie.

Excellent!

This is a great story for a laugh. Michael Buckley writes a hilarious story about the Weirdies, triplets who cause mayhem, terror, and occasional instances of insanity.

Kate Winslet does a great job of narrating and voicing the various characters. Her voices for the Weirdies are unique and add to the humor of the story.

Quirky, funny & cute. What could possibly go wrong?

Aren’t we all weird anyway? I recommend this, with or without kids. It’s a quick 90-minutes+ and an adorable story about unconditional love for kids no matter how strange they are. The shenanigans these kids think up is full stop hilarious. I mean, what could possibly go wrong with a ... well, I won’t spoil it.

The Wonderful Weirdies

Kate Winslet does a wonderful job narrating this strange tale. This book reminds me of The Peculiar Children and The Series of Unfortunate Events. It was a great listen about The Weirdies who are three highly unusual triplets and what happens to them when their very eccentric parents do not come home from the vacation. The vacation where the parents were so busy packing that absentmindedly forget the triplets.

I loved this book!

Kate was the perfect narrator! I can't imagine anyone else for the part. The story was hilariously dark but the message was clear.

Loved the narrator - Kate Winslet

I have a part time job working from 4 am to 8 am. This was a perfect short story to listen to while working! It’s somewhat sad, but has a great heartfelt ending. I listened to this short story twice. I’m excited to see what happens in the next book. Kate Winslet is a fabulous narrator!!!
