Change comes most readily when you understand what's standing between you and success and tailor your solution to that roadblock. If you want to work out more but find exercise difficult and boring, downloading a goal-setting app probably won't help. But what if, instead, you transformed your workouts so they became a source of pleasure instead of a chore? Turning an uphill battle into a downhill one is the key to success.

None of us had a perfect childhood; we are all carrying around behaviors that don’t serve us—and may in fact be hurting us. But it doesn’t have to be that way, says licensed marriage and family therapist Vienna Pharaon. Our past might create our patterns, but we can change those patterns for the better...with the right tools. In The Origins of You, Pharaon has unlocked a healing process to help us understand our Family of Origin—the family and framework we grew up within—and examine what worked (and didn’t) in that system.

It’s time to stop second-guessing yourself and start building the qualities that will make you an authentic, amazing leader. In the past century, women have scaled new heights in the workplace. From working as clerks and secretaries in the 1950s, women today are now holding top positions in the world’s largest corporations. Yet, women remain vastly underrepresented in leadership roles, making up only five percent of Fortune 500 CEOs, and 10 percent of top management positions in S&P 1500 companies, despite accounting for 47 percent of the labor workforce.

Critic reviews
'Using her own story and those of the inspiring women she's coached—along with strategies from some of the nation's top thought leaders, Kathy Caprino writes with heart and deep experience to reveal what holding so many women back from building the careers they long for. THE MOST POWERFUL YOU is a much-needed guide to reaching your highest potential.'—Terry Real—Author of The New Rules of Marriage and Founder of The Relational Life Institute
'I've known Kathy for over a decade, and she continually leverages her past personal and professional challenges to inspire successful women with timely and relevant insights. Her new book, The Most Powerful You, delves into the gaps that women experience in realizing their full potential, including undervaluing yourself, communicating fear, cutting yourself off from high-level support, and putting up with disrespectful treatment from others. We can all learn so much from Kathy and this book provides the perfect forum to do so!'—Alexandra Levit, Author of Humanity Works: Merging Technologies and People for the Workforce of the Future
'I've known and respected Kathy Caprino's work and messages for many years and can honestly say that what she shares in this book can be life-changing for you, if you're ready for a brave new path and more powerful and exciting future.'—Shawn Achor, New York Times best-selling author of Big Potential and The Happiness Advantage

Amazing helpful truths
Kathy’s approach to telling her story, and that of many other women in this book, provides a path for all professional women to look at their lives through a different, braver lens. I highly recommend this book and the journey it will take you on if you allow it! Kathy has truly helped me to be braver, to set boundaries, and to stand up for myself.

Inspirational!
I found the book to be thought provoking and insightful. Many of the stories moved me, which initiated me to reflect upon my own behavior (past and present), as well as, take a personal inventory of where I have grown as a woman and a professional. Each gap was illustrated by an engaging story that was described with enough detail that I could feel it. I loved the way Kathy told each story with compassion and ease, and offered helpful tips and strategies at the end of each power gap. Kathy is a gifted coach, author and story teller, and has a natural ability to connect with people. By the end of the book, I felt as if I stood taller and more powerful in my own greatest.
