Publisher's summary

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • She’s the city girl who refuses to be saddled with a man. He’s the cowboy who wants her anyway.

From the author of the BookTok sensation Done and Dusted comes the next book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, a small town romance featuring opposites attract and forced proximity.

“Tender, relatable, and brimming with delicious tension.”—USA Today bestselling author Elsie Silver

The last thing Ada Hart needs is a man to take care of her. Not anymore. After failing out of her interior design program and the disaster that was her short-lived marriage, Ada clawed her way up from her rock bottom. Now, the only person she trusts is herself, and that has gotten her further than ever before. She has her own business, and one of the largest ranches in Wyoming just hired her for the most important project of her career.

When Ada arrives in Meadowlark, she finds herself in a dive bar where she can’t seem to shake the eyes of a handsome cowboy. When she leads him to the back of the bar, he leaves her with a kiss that most people can only fantasize about. She almost regrets that she’ll never see him again . . . except it turns out he’s her new boss.

Weston Ryder is a happy guy. Even happier now that the mystery woman from the bar is the interior designer for his dream project on his family’s ranch. He feels like he hit the jackpot. It’s too bad she wants absolutely nothing to do with him outside of work. Ada is convinced the pull she feels toward Wes will go away, but Wes can’t stop thinking about her. Even though walls are coming down around Rebel Blue, Ada’s walls are firmly in place.

Can they make it through this project without giving in? Or will they both put their dreams on the line for a chance at love?

Critic reviews

“Take me home to Rebel Blue Ranch. Lyla Sage has done it again with another tender, swoon worthy, and achingly romantic story. I disappeared into the pages and never wanted to leave. Readers are going to be swept away by Ada and Wes.”—B.K. Borison, author of Lovelight Farms

Swift and Saddled wrapped me up in a welcoming embrace and never let me go. I’d give anything to stay in Meadowlark with Wes and Ada.”—Hannah Bonam-Young, author of Out on a Limb

“Lyla Sage has crafted something truly special in the Rebel Blue Ranch series. Deeply sweet, charmingly funny, and the perfect amount of sexy, Swift and Saddled (and all of the Rebel Blue stories) are the atmospheric, romantic rides of my dreams that I’ll gladly return to again and again. I simply cannot wait for whatever Lyla gives us next.”—Tarah DeWitt, author of Funny Feelings

My Dreams Lead Me Back To You

Some of the things I enjoy in books are when characters are open with each other. It’s such a breath of fresh air if they actually communicate with each other. I love it so much. There were several times in this book where “open communication “ was present. Love love love

Take me back to Baby Blue 💙💙

Ada is the city girl who refuses to be saddled to a man. Wes is the gorgeous cowboy whose waited a long time to find a partner, while he waits being the "nice guy" to everyone but WES.....you're soooo nice, so good, so thoughtful, so hot 🔥 Ada has dropped out of design school, gotten divorced and is convinced she doesn't need a man. Wes is looking for "his thing" in the family business. Gus will take over the ranch eventually, Emmy has bull riding and teaching riding lessons, so Wes decides to renovate the old Rebel Blue homestead and create a place for others to come and enjoy the beautiful Wyoming lands. Ada and Wes meet at The Bootleg Bar, not realizing who each other are. Sparks fly and chemistry is high between the two from the start.

They begin to work together closely over the next few months and there's no denying they want each other but will they be able to make it through this project without giving in? They openly talk about the struggles they've dealt with, depression being one of them, as Wes deals with that. It's refreshing to read about characters who are dealing with such relatable problems. They help and encourage one another.

Lyla Sage's cowboy book boyfriends are swoon worthy and Wes is NO EXCEPTION! He's perfect! Wes and Ada are an adorable couple. I know nothing about ranch living but Lyla's characters are so down to earth and relatable and I'm about ready to move to Wyoming myself!

i particularly enjoyed her conversation on how Wes dealt with depression and taking medication for it, both the good and the bad effects it can have. Ada's stubborn but Wes is the most patient man known to humanity and he's willing and ready to let Ada follow her dreams while he waits for her.

Heading back to Rebel Ranch was such a treat. Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin are absolutely fantastic. It's so easy to get lost in the story when they are telling it. Utter perfection. Wyoming...I'm coming for ya! Baby Blue you're calling to me and I can't wait until we meet again. 💙💙

The perfect black cat gf and golden retriever bf combo

“I would never insult you by calling you something as generic as nice”

• slowburn & spicy (the best tension)
• black cat gf / golden retriever bf
• he has depression, she has arousal dysfunction

Wes and Ada are the kind of couple that makes me feel everything from butterflies to wall-climbing s/xual tension. The narrators (Teddy Hamilton & Vanessa Edwin) made me feel everything even more deeply.

Ada is chasing her dream after a tough divorce. On her first night in town for an interior design project she starts hooking up with none other than Wes, who just so happens to be her client. Their time together is interrupted before either of them realizes who the other is - until her first day on the job.

Wes makes no secret he is smitten with her. Due to her past, Ada struggles to see herself as desirable long-term for anyone and embraces the philosophy of running away before someone can abandon you. But Wes isn’t going anywhere and he’s patient and supportive while she comes to term with that reality. Their romance was everything to me!

Wes is sweet, energetic, and not shy about expressing his feelings for Ada (and as a bonus he’s great at verbally expressing himself in the spicy scenes too and his actions back it up). He is down bad and loves everything about Ada, her mean streak included.

And while Ada can be prickly, she’s also got a big heart. She struggles to be emotionally vulnerable and openly acknowledges she used to be a “not like other girls” girl. Not because she hated girls but because she wanted to be like them but didn’t feel she fit in and it was her way of pushing them away before they could reject her. It was refreshing and honest, and seeing her form connections with other women who supported her was so satisfying.

I could ramble about this book forever!!

Solid 4 stars. I do think Done and Dusted was better but I enjoyed Swift and Saddled. Wes is a sweetheart but also very spicy. I love how you seen Ada grow as a character to someone who was so unsure of herself to a confident strong FMC. I love Rebel Blue Ranch. Lyla definitely know how to transport her readers to the location. I can’t wait for the next one. The narrators did an amazing job!

Cowboy Dreams 🤠

I would have never read this book if not for the audio version and I’m so glad that I gave it a chance and listened.

I love Ada and West and am even more excited for the next book in this series!

I don’t give 5 ⭐️s easily but something about Lyla’s stories just does it for me. I loved Wes & Ada’s story & cannot wait for more Rebel Blue!

The audio just make it so much more vibrant and beautiful. Reading and listening to these story’s are so spectacular on their own matter and I can’t truly decide which version I love more.
