Publisher's summary

Riley Thorn and her hot tattooed private investigator boyfriend are all moved in to their new fixer-upper. Not only do they finally have their own place they also haven’t found any new dead bodies on the premises.

Yep. It looks like summer is over, and so is Riley’s bad luck. Or is it?

While Nick gives up sleeping and showering to obsess over the cold case that still haunts him, his business partner Mrs. Penny is calling the investigative shots. It’s every bit as bad as you can imagine.

Meanwhile, Riley has her hands full fixing up the crumbling crime scene they call home and setting boundaries with the breaking-and-entering octogenarians next door. You know. Normal stuff.

But normal comes to a screeching halt when our favorite psychic is abducted by a stranger with candy, and her powers go on the fritz. To make matters worse, it becomes clear that Riley’s new house guests are definitely either in trouble or are trouble after bad guys deliver a warning with a severed finger.

Can Nick and Riley solve the case the old-fashioned way before they all end up in pieces? Or will a surprise birthday party, a dog doody bandit, an accidental arson, and a blast from the past be too much for them to handle?

Great book

Listened to all the Riley books and as funny as they are I was kind of disappointed in this book because I felt like it dragged and the ending was rushed and not satisfying.. that being said I still laughed out loud I hope there’s going to be a 4th book

Another hit

Lucy has the best on going story line on this continuing series. I can wait for her next edition to see if Callan and Jasmine and Gabe and Wanders relationships escalate. Callan and Jasmine need to hook up and Nick and Rileys move forward to a more solid relationship they are the cutest couple. Will they ever get any real alone time. Kudos to Lucy and Natalies narration.

Another hilarious romantic adventure for Riley and Nick

Oh my goodness. I loved to first two Riley Thorn books and I was crossing my fingers that this one would be just as good. My finger crossing was completely unnecessary because once again, Riley and Nick sucked me in to the great hilarity and insanity of of their life and I was immediately lost in the goodness of the story. It is another crazy comedic masterpiece that has suspense and mystery and love and sex. Natalie Duke is once again fantastic at narrating Riley. Our heroine, Riley Thorn, is a 34 year old divorced psychic good girl who is living and working with her boyfriend, Nick Santiago. Our hero, Nick, is a 37 year old private eye who loves Riley and just wants to keep her safe. Nick and Riley are together again trying to solve mysteries, catch bad guys, deal with crazy family members, and try to get sexy private time in a house full of continual chaos and interruption. This time Nick has become obsessed with solving the cold case that haunts him while Riley is trying to keep their house from falling down around their ears and crossing her fingers that their romance is not fizzling out. The flow of the story is similar to the other books where Riley is in the middle of deep doodoo danger at the beginning of the book and the rest of the book explains how she once again ended up in that place. Sprinkled throughout this beautifully paced story of Riley and Nick’s most recent adventure, there are also a number of secondary characters included in RTatBftP. Some are new but many we’ve seen in past books. Rather than being overwhelming or detracting from the main love story and the mystery, these characters are central to the hilarity and the continued development of Riley and Nick’s crazy dance of love and passion. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that there will be many more hilarious stories in this universe.

Another kooky adventure

A blast from the past, indeed! The craziness is back and it’s hilarious. There’s a house that needs fixing, lack of sleep, cotton candy land is being elusive. The seniors next door have no sense of personal space

Fun Series!

This was the best book of the series so far. Now that the characters have been established she is able to do more with them. Looking forward to the next book!
