Publisher's summary

A once-elite, beautiful young woman has turned to a life of Tarot card reading for English nobility in order to maintain a life of squalor for her and her family. But even Jessamine Maitland could not foresee Alistair MacAlpin's irresistible charm. A privileged aristocrat turned infamous cat burglar, he's going to take Jessamine on the adventure of a lifetime. Little does she know, the arrogant thief has absolutely no intention of ever being caught - by man or woman.

Terrible reading of a bad story

The only reason I finished this was so I could warn people not to waste their money! The “romantic hero” in this story was cruel and abusive with no redeeming qualities or depth of character. And the reader only made it worse. A huge waste of a credit!

My favorite Anne Stuart novel 💚

It doesn’t get much better than this for me with Anne Stuart’s work. I have read it so many times since it’s original release many years ago and I still relish in its suspense and delightful character chemistry. One of the many bonuses in this wonderful story is that you get two sizzling romances instead of just one. I will never get tired of this story or its heroine and her deliciously mischievious counterpart.

Prince of Swords

The book was wonderful. Of course, I love everything Anne Stuart writes. However, the narrator was American and of course, the book takes place in England. She couldn't quite get the accent and halfway through her talk, she would "forget" she was using an accent. And what little accent she had was terrible.
