Publisher's summary

Born into hell. Baptism by betrayal.

His life revolves around violence. My life is on the line.

I'm trapped both physically and emotionally. A pawn in a game I didn't know I was playing. Until I met him.

Pike acts without emotion, but I know he feels something for me. I see it in his eyes when he looks at me. I feel it when he's close. I know it's real because I feel it too. Lust. Desire. It complicates everything.

I know that I'm part of Pike's plan for revenge. He doesn't know he's part of mine.

Contains mature themes.

3/4 of the book was a recap.

I love TM Frazier and this book is good and yet redundant. I enjoyed the concept though and appreciated the authors note.

Worth the wait

It had been a while since I read Pike's book so before jumping into Pawn I went back for a refresher. And I'm glad I did, it brought back all kind of memories and I noticed little things that I missed the first time.
This book continues with Pike and Mickey, their unconventional relationship, and the issue of taking down the 4th Reich. As Mickey's memories start to come back, pieces begin falling into place but in order to stop Darrius they are going to need to help of some familiar faces...enter King, Preppy and Nine:)

Great story line

This was a great book. However, I seriously wish the author could have forgone the few sentences that were political. By having the Fourth Reich’s chants mock Trump’s phrases, the author pulled a Hollywood stunt by trying a bit to turn our minds against a political party by using art. I always enjoy this author, but this very small portion of this book will make me think twice before reading another of her books. That breaks my heart, but reading fiction is an escape for me. I do not want real world events and propaganda getting in the way of that.

Great spin-off series to King

First I want to say the editors note at the end is EVERYTHING!

This is book two in the series and the spin-off to the King Series. I love how it keeps all the characters but with a much different story to tell. The story line for both Pike and Pawn have the elements of loss, revenge, mental health and racism (hate groups) and the courage to break free and start over and love. Because this one started with the ending cliffhanger of Pike it gets right to the meat of the story. Mickey finally reveals her truths to Pike which is when the hate group the 4th richt comes in and the gravity of what Mickey's father did to her family, her determination to bring them down at all cost. At the risk of giving away spoilers I will just say T.M. Frazier is awesome, there is plenty of suspense and romance in this story. Awesome narration as well.

This book almost broke me, too!

The cliffhanger from Pike took one Hell of a left turn. I was not expecting that and, of course, queue the waterworks. Mick had been through so much already. What a story!!! TM Frazier is so amazing with her writing and character development. I haven't found a book of hers that I don't like. I prefer to listen to her books more than once.
Leave it to Preppy to mKe you laugh in any of the King Series books. He's one-of-kind!

Great Author!

This must have been a booger to write this series of books. The romance, hot sex and alpha males were included around some tough topic such as white supremacy, child abuse and mental health. I feel the author did an excellent job in presenting these topics. I will definitely re-read this story again. I really hope the author adds another book to this series covering how the different characters lived years later and how they survived from the trauma. The performers were great! Of course I’m slightly bias since I’m Teddy Hamilton’s biggest fan!! He could read a cereal box and make it sound sexy.

One of my favorite authors

She is one of my favorite authors, but the book was way to deep and heavy for an enjoyable read.
