Story
This audiobook should be the first novel you try in French! Following a story in French can be difficult, even for advanced students. French novels are usually full of idiomatic expressions. They use complicated tenses, complex sentence structures, and often slang. This audiobook is in simple French. It's about the joys and the frustrations of an adult learning French. It includes a good dose of humor and a few exercises.

John Julius Norwich - called a "true master of narrative history" by Simon Sebag Montefiore - returns with the book he has spent his distinguished career wanting to write, A History of France, a portrait of the past two centuries of the country he loves best. Beginning with Julius Caesar's conquest of Gaul in the first century BC, this study of French history comprises a cast of legendary characters - Charlemagne, Louis XIV, Napoleon, Joan of Arc, and Marie Antionette, to name a few - as Norwich chronicles France's often violent, always fascinating history.

Chapitre Un
- Suivez-moi, il me dit.
- Votre adresse ?
Six nuits exactement.
- Comment s’appelle votre amie ?
Pourquoi ?

What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Lead Character Interesting
It is interesting to follow the thoughts of the lead character as she gets to know the various people of the building. France Dubin describes the atmosphere of the building extremely well. I can visualize being in Paris and living this adventure. The French is well-pronounced for beginners and intermediate level students to understand. I am actually listening a second time; listening helps my French. It is important in learning a language to hear it and work with it at least twice a day, even if it's only five minutes. This audiobook is a wonderful choice. There are a lot of banal books out there when it comes to French audio for learners. This one is engaging.

Excellent language resource
Another excellent book by France Dubin. Her books have really helped my spoken French comprehension, which is my weakest area. Looking forward to the next one. Merci beaucoup!
