Finally! A French book that is fun to read!

I was so happy to discover this book by France Dubin.
It is a wonderful resource for the beginning and intermediate level language learner. The Audible tape is a fantastic addition to her books. I plan to read all her books. All I can say is, Thank you France Dubin for your books. Not only are they instructive, they are interesting, clever and most importantly they are fun to read!

Engaging

The vocabulary was simple and clearly read. The story kept my attention but included repetition of important words, like colors and numbers and directions. I plan to enjoy the rest of this series.

Lively and Humorous

I've purchased several of the works by France Dubin. They were exactly what I was looking for in my French studies. After a year of an on-line course, I needed to add something new and fun to my program. The podcasts available alternated between French and English so they weren't as immersive as I wanted; French news and tv programs were delivered too quickly for me to keep up. These stories are perfect. The characters are engaging and the delivery suits my level. One aspect I really appreciate about these murder mysteries and the other works is that Ms. Dubin describes French characters and places extremely well. I have lived in Paris twice, and the characters of the concierge and the French teacher are familiar to me from real life. Her descriptions of hotel rooms and places are equally realistic. They bring back many experiences to my memory. She conveys the beauty of Paris but also more nuanced aspects. She is also very funny! I love the sense of humor in the stories. These stories will spice up your French studies!
