Publisher's summary
Deadland is the world’s most ambitious new theme park, inspired by a mysterious, deadly virus that killed some island tourists ten years ago but never went global. Here, zombie-themed robots run wild and the thrills never cease.
When disgraced virologist Dr. Piper Prescott receives an invitation from Deadland's eccentric creator to visit the park, she agrees—eager to see the attractions, but skeptical of its CEO. But not long after her arrival, Piper encounters a frantic father who claims he lost his 11-year-old son on a ride. When they find him, Piper immediately recognizes that the boy is sick.
Very sick. With a virus that shouldn't exist, because it was eradicated ten years ago.
Wasn't it?
As Piper races to save the boy from the deadliest virus humanity has ever known, she knows that if she doesn't make it out of the park, Deadland won't just be a hunting ground for zombie enthusiasts.
It'll be Ground Zero for an extinction event.

The first reports of illness occurred within hours of exposure, the first deaths followed a short time later but it wasn’t until the second day that the first of the dead started to rise. By the end of the weekend the illness had burnt its way across the globe as containment efforts failed. “Z’s”, “Zekes”, “Skinbags”, “Meat puppets” and at least a dozen other names had taken root on social media and news feeds before most forms of communication dropped off the air. Of course, the word, Zombie, was the most prevalent term of all. The only problem was, these weren’t the Zombies of science fiction and folklore, this was something entirely different. This was an invasion; the complete and utter recolonization of planet earth had begun. As Armies fall and governments collapse, a small pocket of humanity manages to eke out a desperate existence in the Florida ...

All Nathan Grant wanted was solitude. After being baptized in the blood rite of combat and spending more than a decade knee deep in gore, two events that cost him his marriage, Nathan Grant wanted to be as far away from civilization as he could be. Then the world ended. Faced with the harsh reality of a world now populated with psychotic cannibals, Grant did what he does best – stay at his remote cabin and drink a few beers while watching the world melt down. His way of thinking was let it happen as long as it happened far away from him. However, fate had different plans. Dropped into ...

Extremely interesting take on a viral outbreak.
I really liked this book a lot. The story was excellent the characters were likable and it kept me invested. I was not a fan of the virtual voice because it mispronounced a lot of stuff and had no emotion which kind of took away from the story.
