Publisher's summary

Brett Somers had informed his family that in the new year he was going to get married and start a family. The only problem was, he had no prospects in mind and was too old for any of the local eligible girls. He was a man of his word and prided himself on his reputation for following through on the things he said he would do. While massaging his neck and head to relieve his headache pain, he wondered how he was going to make his new year's resolution come to fruition. It couldn't be that hard, could it?

Bernice was a young woman in her mid-twenties. She had picked up the nickname of 'Burnie' due to her uncanny way of burning whatever she was cooking. She tended to be easily distracted resulting in a number of burned meals having to be thrown away! When asked why she constantly burned everything, she replied it was due to her daydreaming about a tall, dark, and handsome stranger who instantly falls in love with her.

She is quickly informed that she can only pour catsup on her burnt offerings for so long if she ever hopes to keep a husband. When she decides to respond to an ad for a mail order bride, she hopes he will choose her...and she really hopes she will be able to cook a decent meal!

Don't miss this fun-loving small town romance from Christy Webb. It's sure to bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart!
