May you have a Happy Thanksgiving, 2023! Day job and writing at night, that was me, as well as many authors today. The first little book of short stories, "In the Garden of Mistress Bloom," won 1st place in Science Fiction in Writer's Digest's self-published e-book category for 2021. See the May/June 2022 issue of Writer's Digest, page 59. It's the issue with Kate Quinn on the cover. Kate is one of my favorite authors with clear smooth writing and intrigue and action by strong female characters. Back to In the Garden of Mistress Bloom: I greatly enjoyed writing this collection, so different from writing a novel. Full of twinkle and grin, In the Garden of Mistress Bloom received a sparkliing review from Kirkus Reviews. I hope you find it as fun and inviting as they did. Available in print or on Kindle. My first dark fantasy, "Enter Living --Harry and Seek-- Book of the Dead," is now in softcover and on Kindle. There's a lot of tongue in cheek as the fantastic story unfolds. The sci-fi story, Quest for Sylvane, is on Kindle and in soft cover. This is my longest book, and it only took 32 years to finish. To be sure, I had a slow learning curve as my narrator's voice changed several times as I wrote and rewrote Quest for Sylvane. New and live in 2023, is a love story wrapped in a mystery thriller, For the Love of Maggie O'Die, pronounced oh-dee. In this story we follow young, tall dark and handsome, Ryger Deacon, newly awakened from a midnight cardboard gurney on Nob Hill and struggling to find out who he really is. His love interest, Maggie O'Die, is the billionaire founder of All Bio, and is eighty to ninety years old, no one knows for sure, but she's in fine shape to help Ryger solve the mysterious disappearance of her husband Sam. Yet Maggie disappears, and Ryger is adrift in a new sea of confusion. Since June, 2023 at Kindle; July, 2023 in hardcover; and now in softcover as well. Soon (Dec? 2023) to be in audio book format.
