David Ecker is a Stony Brook University graduate who has worked at the university for 25+ years in technology management and leadership roles. In addition, he has helped others advance their careers and founded OurCareerCoaches.com to help professionals meet their life and career aspirations. He focuses on innovation, the entrepreneurial spirit, and technology and believes hands-on learning is the future for success. David founded WolfieTank, a pitch competition for young entrepreneurs to present their ideas to a panel of Stony Brook alumni. David made it possible for Stony Brook University to respond to the shortage of PPE during COVID by creating 3D-printed face shields for healthcare workers. He presented at TedX Stony Brook in 2013. His talk “When life throws you a curve ball” demonstrates how teachers can learn from students. David holds a Master of Science in Technological Systems Management and a Bachelor of Science from Stony Brook University. In addition, he has an advanced Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from SUNY Empire State College. David lives on Long Island with his family.
