Publisher's summary

One of the most important tools in your writing kit is dialogue. It can help develop your characters, move the plot forward, increase tension, and establish a scene’s mood.

Unfortunately, sometimes novice writers write dull dialogue. Like a flat tire that slows your vehicle to a near stop, so dull dialogue can quickly bring your story to a near halt.

Write Engaging, Natural Dialogue is all about helping beginning writers better understand how to pen conversations between characters. If you’ve already written a story and know the dialogue is weak, the tips in this book can help you diagnose and fix the problem.

ROB BIGNELL is the author of more than 50 books and an established editor who has helped more than 300 authors achieve their publishing dreams. His published works include hiking trail guidebooks, a novel, children’s books, and a poetry collection.

The irony of a text about good dialogue being delivered in a stilted text to speech voice.

There's. lot of useful information here but it's hard to pay attention to without a human reading it. There are also a number of places where visual differences in sentence structure are discussed that are utterly lost in audio. Still worth a listen, but the presentation doesn't make it easy.
