When Marilyn Kleinman is caught making out with the rabbi’s son in front of the whole congregation, her parents ship her off to her great-aunt Ada for the summer. If anyone can save their daughter’s reputation, it’s Philadelphia’s strict premier matchmaker. Either that or Marilyn can kiss college goodbye. To Marilyn’s surprise, Ada’s not the humorless septuagenarian her mother described. Not with that platinum-blonde hair, Hermès scarf, and Cadillac convertible. She’s sharp, straight-talking, takes her job very seriously, and abides by her own rules…mostly.

Publisher's summary
“Amy Lea’s Woke Up Like This reminded me that the exciting and complicated feelings of our teenage years never truly fade away. The book perfectly captures high school nostalgia . . . It’s a feel-good story for the young and young at heart.”—Mindy Kaling
For two high school seniors, it’s seventeen going on thirty—overnight—in a magical romantic comedy about growing up too fast and living in the moment.
Planning the perfect prom is one last “to do” on ultra-organized Charlotte Wu’s high school bucket list. So far, so good, if not for a decorating accident that sends Charlotte crash-landing off a ladder, face-first into her obnoxiously ripped archnemesis J. T. Renner. Worse? When Charlotte wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed at thirty years old, with her bearded fiancé, Renner, by her side.
Either they’ve lost their minds or they’ve been drop-kicked into adulthood, forever trapped in the thirty-year-old bodies of their future selves. With each other as their only constant, Charlotte and Renner discover all that’s changed in the time they’ve missed. Charlotte also learns there’s more to Renner than irritating-jock charm, and that reaching the next milestone isn’t as important as what happens in between.
Navigating a series of adventures and a confounding new normal, Charlotte and Renner will do whatever it takes to find a way back to seventeen. But when—and if—they do, what then?
Critic reviews
“Narrator Natalie Naudus gives an expressive and engaging performance. Her delightful delivery, paired with the playful narrative, creates a captivating listening experience. This audio will appeal to listeners seeking a hilarious, coming-of-age contemporary romance about living in the moment. Recommended for fans of Sarah Adams, Sarah Jost, and Allison Winn Scotch.”—Library Journal (starred review)
“Natalie Naudus shines as she transports listeners to Maplewood, California, where we meet career-driven high school senior Charlotte Woo.… Naudus delivers a magical performance that showcases the vulnerabilities, tension, and longing between Charlotte and J.T. Both Young Adult and adult listeners will fall in love with this sweet teenage rom-com, which creates a blissful amount of high school nostalgia and first-love happiness.”—AudioFile Magazine
“Lea creates a story that is part 13 Going on 30, part To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (both referenced in the pop-culture savvy text), and 100% swoony fun… A fun, nostalgic story that’s perfect for anyone who wants to take a trip down Memory Lane.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

Norris is clever, cynical, and quite possibly too smart for his own good. A Black French Canadian, he knows from watching American sitcoms that those three things don’t bode well when you are moving to Texas. Plunked into a new high school, Norris finds himself cataloging everyone he meets: the Cheerleaders, the Jocks, the Loners, and even the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Making a ton of friends has never been a priority for him, and this way he can at least amuse himself until it’s time to go back to Canada, where he belongs. Yet those labels soon become actual people to Norris....

Cameron Bright’s reputation can be summed up in one word: b*tch. It’s no surprise she’s queen bee at her private LA high school - she’s beautiful, talented, and notorious for her brutal honesty. But when she slips up in front of her crush, Andrew, any affection he may have had for her quickly fades. To win him over, Cameron resolves to “tame” herself, much like Shakespeare’s infamous shrew, Katherine. If she makes amends with everyone she’s ever wronged, Andrew will have to take notice.

Best friends Dave and Julia were determined never to be cliché high school kids. They even wrote their own Never List of everything they vowed they'd never, ever do in high school. Some of the rules have been easy to follow, like number five, never dye your hair a color of the rainbow, or number seven, never hook up with a teacher. But Dave has a secret: he's broken rule number eight, never pine silently after someone for the entirety of high school. It's either that or break rule number ten, never date your best friend.

But despite the fact she’s facing a broken marriage and empty nest and that middle age is looming in the distance, memories of happy childhoods on the beach give her reason for hope. But converting the beloved, weather-beaten structure into a bed-and-breakfast isn’t quite the efficient home-reno experience she’s seen on TV.

Story
A wedding planner left at the altar? Yeah, the irony isn't lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina's offered an opportunity that could change her life. There's just one hitch...she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials. Marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand. Then he learns he'll be working with his brother's whip-smart, stunning - absolutely off-limits - ex-fiancée.

So nostalgic and cute!
I absolutely loved this book! If you like “13 Going On 30”, you’re going to be obsessed with Renner and Charlotte’s story. It was such a cute coming of age story. I wish I could read it again for the first time!
I enjoyed the narration by Natalie Naudus as well. She did great!!

I loved this!!!
What a GREAT book!! It even ends with a message to think about in your life.
I love how Charlotte and Renner learn about themselves, each other and how they truly feel about each other, through their trip through time. They’re decorating for Prom when Charlotte falls of the ladder landing on Renner and then they wake up 13 years later, when they’re 30 and engaged!! How can this be when they hated each other?!!!
This is such a fun, sweet and inspirational story!! Highly recommend if you enjoy romance, especially romcoms, with a splash of so-called time travel…no science-y stuff with this. I think of it as more fantasy than sci-fi time travel. It’s definitely a great read, hard to put down!!!
The narrator was excellent!!!

Sweet story.
Pleasantly surprised about how much I liked this book. Downloaded for a quick filler book and now it’s a top 10 of the year so far.

13 going on 30 vibes
I’m not going to lie, it started out a little slow. Once you get get to the point of the two main characters being forced 13 years into the future it really picked up! The book was really cute, and overall a feel good type of story. Everything after the first 7 or 8 chapters was beyond worth it! 🥰

Really good
This was really good. I could even see it being turned into a Hallmark movie. A time travel love story with a bit of a twist. Definitely recommend.

♥️♥️OMG!!♥️♥️
Omg this is one of my top favorite books of this year!! Maybe it's bc it reminds me of my husband and I as high school sweethearts. But omg the love story is so amazing!! High school kind of enemies, then time jump to bring engaged and realizing they're meant for each other!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
