Publisher's summary

“Because you’re worth rescue.” The unrelenting third installment in the Murphy Shepherd series from New York Times bestselling author Charles Martin.

Murphy Shepherd’s last rescue mission very nearly cost him his life. He’d like nothing more than to stay close to his wife and daughters for a while. But Bones’s nemesis must be stopped, and there are so many who still need to know they are worth rescuing.

As the cat-and-mouse game moves into the open, Murphy is tested at every turn—both physically and mentally. Then the unthinkable happens: his beloved mentor and friend is taken. Gone without a trace.

Murphy lives by the mantra that love always shows up. But how can he rescue Bones when he has no leads?

With heart-stopping clarity, The Record Keeper explores the true cost of leaving the ninety-nine to find the one.

Excellent as usual for Charles Martin!

I loved the story on this but it is a very hard subject to take on. Martin does it with grace and taste, making an obviously horrific subject matter (child trafficking) devastating and gripping without being horribly graphic. He lets you know that it IS horrible graphic but without voyeuristic detail.

That said, the narration almost made me stop listening and pick the book up instead. There is a LOT of mouth smacking and I can hear sounds that distract from the story. But it might be the way it is handled or edited because when I got over hearing all that, I listened the the rest of it. I guess you get used to it. Charles Martin reels you in no matter who is telling the story!
Overall good audiobook.

Oh My Word!!!!

Charles Martin has reeled me in for the most fabulous trilogy ever!! The story is never boring and how I wish we had a Bishop/Murphy today freeing children from human trafficking!!!

What a Ride!

This installment of the Murphy Shepherd story is by far the most intense of the trilogy. The story seems almost personal for Charles Martin as it’s so gritty and real. I’m very glad he wrote this book and believe it will impact many people in the best ways to help those who cannot help themselves. Bravo!

Excellent series

The Murphy Shepherd series has been an eye opening series for me. The books are riddled with the evil that lurks in the darkest corners of the world. Liberties are taken with what seems likely when it comes to some of the details, but the overriding theme of one outweighing the needs of the ninety nine, and the selflessness with which these characters live their lives is something to think about in a world so focussed on self promotion and desires. Very well written, and I loved how the epilogue brought us full circle back to the beginning.

Great book

This is another great one from Charles Martin. He is one of my favorite writers. This book was the third book in the series and just as good or better than the other two. THE DOG DID NOT GET KILLED!!!! The narrator as with the other books was great too. Now I am just waiting on his next book.

So amazing

Best trilogy I absolutely loved every minute.. I wasn’t sure when I first heard the narrator but he really grew on me and I could tell who was speaking just by his accents. He did a great job. The writer is brilliant too. So good!!

Action, suspense, romance- love this series!

I loved each of the books in this series. This was my first experience reading Charles Martin and I will be reading more! The author is so detailed and you can see what is happening in your mind's eye. I love these characters and am sad this trilogy has ended.

Another beautiful and compelling novel by Charles Martin.

This book and series have been beautiful and heart wrenching. Charles Martin writes like no other - his prose is rich and deep. I have loved this series and all of his previous books as well. It is painful to hear of the atrocities that take place in the pages of this series, but they must be told. It is mind-boggling that there really are people in our world suffering the ways these children are suffering. However, praise God, there are amazing individuals who do these rescues and ministries that bring Jesus’ healing and hope to survivors. Everyone needs to hear this message!
