All is set for a lovely Christmas, with friends and family gathered round the fire, except as the bells chime midnight, a murder is committed. But who is responsible? The scorned young lover? The lord's passed-over cousin? The social-climbing politician's wife? The Czech history professor? The obsequious butler? And perhaps the real question is: Can they survive long enough to find out?

There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. The Case of the Canterfell Codicil is a classic, cozy, locked-room mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.

What first appears as a simple break-in quickly spirals into a mystery of contested land grabs for fishing between farmers, made all the more enticing to MacDonald when a body is then found in the river.

Her targets were the titans of their era—billionaires, movie stars, politicians. Dorian said they had one thing in common: they had all committed crimes against women. Nice little Christmas story. Pretty obvious but fun. Didn't love the narrator but not a deal breaker.

Excellently narrated Campion short story
David Thorpe does an enjoyable narration of this Albert Campion Christmas short story. The voice of Campion is perfection. The story, though short, is good. Uncle Albert saves the day and routs the the thieves.

A little amusing, very predictable.
If you are an Allingham fan this is a bit of fluff you might want to read. I would not normally re-listen, but will share with my car poolers. Very undemanding.
