Publisher's summary

This concise work is a summary of Imam Abu Isa al-Tirmidhi’s Ash - Shamail al-Muhammadiyya, a widely-acclaimed work which details different aspects of the character and lifestyle of Allah’s Messenger (May Allah bless him and grant him peace). Based primarily on the Moroccan scholar Sheikh Muhammad Abd Hayy al-Kattani’s summary entitled Munyat al-Saa’il, this book beautifully captures the essence of each chapter of the Shamail, allowing listeners to draw ever closer to Allah's Messenger (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) and study his salient features, as though they are directly observing his blessed personage.

In an era where Muslims are being detached from Allah's Messenger (May Allah bless him and grant him peace), the lifeline of a person’s belief, it is hoped this summary will help rekindle the flame of love for him and inspire listeners to emulate his blessed example. Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa ibn Sawra al-Tirmidhi was born in 210 ah in Termez, Uzbekistan. He travelled far and wide in his pursuit of the prophetic hadiths, and narrated from Imams al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Qutayba ibn Sa’id and Muhammad ibn Bas-shar among many others. He was renowned for his piety, abstinence, and remarkable memory. Among his famous works are Ash-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya and Al-Jami’ al-Kabir, commonly known as Sunan al-Tirmidhi.

Imam Abu Isa al-Tirmidhi passed away in 297 AH. Sheikh Muhammad Abd al-Hayy al-Kattani was born in 1302 AH in Fez, Morocco. He received his early education by his illustrious father, Sheikh Abd al-Kabir al-Kattani, and his brother, Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Kabir, before moving on to study under great scholars at the renowned institute of Kairouan. He travelled across Morocco and beyond to Egypt, Syria, and the Holy Lands, where he benefited from the knowledge of many scholars. Towards the end of his life, Sheikh Muhammad Abd al-Hayy experienced a number of difficulties from the authorities in Morocco, forcing him to emigrate to Nice, France, where he passed away in 1382 AH.

Great Book, Great Narration

This Islamic Audio book is narrated very clearly and at a good speed. Pronunciation is excellent in both English & Arabic and I can't see any room for improvement there at all.
The book itself is something I would like to have on my bookshelf and my preference would be to read this type of book rather than listen to it.
It is short and full of very interesting hadith about the life of the Prophet (saw).
I look forward to more audio books by this publisher!

Amazing book, read by a fantastic narrator

The book perfectly captures the essence of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the narrator makes the experience all the more enjoyable. The narration is clear and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about the Prophet Muhammad or to anyone who would like to refresh their knowledge.

Beautiful and concise

This was a beautiful narration going through the shama'il. Even though this is a summary of the shama'il, any short reminders on the magnificent stature of the best of creation, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) is always worth it. In addition, the narrator is very clear with their arabic pronunciation and english speech which made it all the more enjoyable.

Exactly what i've been missing

At long last the Muslim community has the privilege to listen to Islamic texts, read by individuals who have mastery in multiple languages. Despite being a first effort, this attempt to marry standard English with correct pronunciation is a huge step for Muslim authors and listeners. The quality of both languages was high, such that as a listener, I was unaware which language the reader considered his first. The Arabic words were recited with the correct makharij, the English words were carefully pronounced to avoid Arabicisation. The pauses were consistent and timely, and the speed was well-balanced throughout. I can't think of an example in which the reader made a word sound unnatural as is very common in the Anglicisation and Arabicisation of other texts. Overall, a fabulous effort, and I look forward to whatever is next. Bravo, mashaAllah.

What a brilliant listen!

An excellent book, narrated excellently too. Captivating tone of voice and enunciation. I could feel the respect the narrator clearly showed for the personality ﷺ he was describing.

Great sound quality. I would definitely recommend this audio book to anyone and everyone. I am insha'Allah going to ask my family to listen to it.

Good job to the producers of this work. May your rewards be endless.

Finally a good Islamic Audio Book!

This is an amazing start to audiobooks from Islamic works. The correct pronunciation of the Arabic is a breath of fresh air. The reader’s voice is also charismatic in a way that continues to engage the reader. A must have for anyone interested in this genre.

Beautiful book narrated by a competent narrator

In terms of the book which was edited and annotated by Mufti Javed Iqbal (May Allah continue his work of deen) is a teacher who I have been present amongst his lectures. Masha'Allah a very humble individual and respected person in terms of his character.

Alhamdulillah this was my first time using such a platform to listen to audiobooks and I can say that certainly it won't be my last. As for the narrator of the book, his voice and the pronunciation of each letter and vowel of the english words and the arabic words were of a high standard. I praise him also for keeping that same level of pronounciation throughout the entire book and saying all of the names correctly which many of us find difficult.

I pray that Allah continues to guide us and others through his work of deen. I pray that Allah grants success to Sawtify and those who are involved in this project. Ameen.
