Publisher's summary

Andrea Brafford’s life is nearly perfect. A passionate marine biologist happily married to Craig, the man she loves, she has recently moved into a home commensurate with their success to enjoy a life many others only dream about in one of Houston’s most desirable suburbs. But only a few months later, a trial that dramatically polarizes their town names Craig Brafford as a defendant in the murder of his young wife, shattering the serenity of the peaceful community.

Andi’s name is on everyone’s lips, her relationships exposed and torn to shreds in a highly publicized case that has everyone’s eyes glued to the internet. Andrea’s life remains a mystery that investigators and public opinion equally fail to solve. Was she the happy, devoted wife she'd made everyone believe she was?

Only she could answer that question.

The best-selling author of Dawn Girl is back with a suspenseful, gripping psychological thriller. Fans of Celeste Ng, Alex Michaelides, and Liane Moriarty will enjoy The Girl You Killed, an addictive psychological thriller that will keep listeners enthralled until the last minute.

An Exciting Psychological Thriller

Leslie Wolfe can always be relied on to give the reader an exciting psychological thriller to read/listen to if you like audio, which I don't mind admitting is now my personal favourite way to enjoy a good book. This one far exceeded my expectations because I think this one is her best book yet. The plot never failed to hold my attention and the twists and turns kept coming, some I saw others I didn't.

The characters are always well developed some likeable and some not! I could say so much about this book but then your enjoyment of it would be spoilt so suffice to say I didn't want to stop listening and when it ended my one thought was - I hope that there's a follow-up.

As always for Leslie's books, we get to enjoy narration by Gwendolyn Druyer who can always be relied on to read to give a performance of such clarity and pacing, each individual protagonist's voice is always distinctive and fit the characters perfectly. Her performance always adds to my enjoyment of any story.

I own the ebook as well as the audiobook for most of Leslie's books that's how good I think they are! I read this book first and enjoyed it immensely but then I downloaded the audio and listened to it - what can I say it takes this Exciting Psychological Thriller to a whole new level.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

"A talent for money."

Firstly, I must say that I very much enjoyed this book despite being both ridiculous and predictable. A psychological thriller, after the introduction of Craig, recently imprisoned and awaiting trial for the murder of his beautiful and intelligent wife, , Andie, a marine biologist, a crime which he vigorously denies, the narrative returns to several months earlier, tracing the events which led to Craig's arresst, interesting the chapters with brief fragments from his trial. The final third of the book continues the story from 'present day'. This writing device works well, allowing the personalities and backgrounds of the main protagonists to be developed whilst the story line carries the reader forwards with an anticipation of what is already partially known.

However, despite carefully concealed twists, their ripples do make the overall storyline predictable and one of the lead protagonists has to take a prize for being one of the dumbest fictional heroines ever: how can a bright college graduate be so irritatingly idiotic even if she is in love?Yet I did enjoy the book, in no small part because of the excellent narration by Gwendolyn Druyer. Her voice is melifluous, no sharp edges too catch the unsuspecting ear. She reads with clarity good pacing and with an expressive modulation. Even her voicings of individual protagonists is appropriate and gently distinctive. Her delivery, however, was too slow for my personal enjoyment but increasingly g the playback speed to 1.3 resolved this without distortion. Her performance most definitely added to the enjoyment of the story.

I was fortunate in receiving a freely gifted complimentary copy of The Girl You Killed, at my application to Audiobooks Unleasd. My thanks to the rights holder for making it avaiable. This is a nicely spun web of psychological fun, easy to read and sure to appeal to readers of mystery thrillers.

Leslie Wolfe has left me speechless!

Once again, Leslie Wolfe has exceeded my expectations with her latest psychological thriller "The Girl You Killed". I have to find another way to say I think this is her best book yet because I seem to be saying it with each of her new releases lately. The plots keep seeming to get twistier. The characters keep being well developed. I keep turning the pages faster to find out what is actually happening.

Gwendolyn Druyor is very good at putting such emotion in her voice that she makes me feel what the character feels. She makes enough distinction in each voice that it is easy to keep track of who is speaking in conversations.

I always look forward to each Leslie book and enjoy reading them as much as I do listening to them. I own each book she has published either through purchasing it myself or being gifted it. I appreciate the gifts. I would have purchased anyway as I just can't imagine missing out on a book written by Leslie Wolfe.

NARRATOR OF MENS VOICES TERRIBLE

The story of the book was good but I couldn't believe Andi could love Craig when he sounded like Marlon Brando in the Godfather. All the men sounded like him and 90 years old. Why did the author choose this man as narrator I will never know. Out of hundreds of books I have listened to this is the 1st review I have ever written but had to warn readers

THE GIRL YOU KILLED!

Leslie Wolfe out did herself. Loved her books, but this was the best by far. Some many twists and turns.

shocking, conniving twists

I love Leslie Wolfe and will read any book she writes. I enjoy most of them in audible. Jaw dropping moments, heartache, frustration - wanting to yell. The plot so deserved 5 stars, but I had issues with this one in audible. The story jumps back and forth with numerous characters I kept getting lost, having to hit rewind. Finally just hung in there (I would never give up on a Leslie Wolfe book) and I am glad I did.

The Girl You Killed

I was immediately caught up in the saga! This was my first story by Leslie Wolfe but won’t be my last! The narrator was a bit drawn out a bit but got the story across for the most part.

Narrator ruined it

This story was so good that I actually got through it despite the narrator! I’m not sure how they are chosen but I certainly wish they would review this!!
