Publisher's summary

When darkness fell, everyone feared the maiden.

The Great Onslaught of 2048 marked the end of mortal rule. Decades later, the vampires united to give birth to the Eternal Age. The years in between, known as the Savage Gap, were ravaged by fear and bloodshed.

In a horrifying time where humanity fought to survive, none were able to challenge the rising factions. That is, until vengeance found its champion.

The Bone Maiden is a prequel tale that leads into the Immortal Wake, an award-winning tech noir series about a dark and distant future. The book trilogy begins with Transient, continues with Thursday Midnight, and concludes with The Mortal Vestige.

An unflinching trip through a savage past

Throughout the book trilogy, there were cryptic mentions of the Savage Gap, a brutal period in the past that set the stage for the main story. It created an unsettling tone that highlighted the murky morality of the series. In the Bone Maiden, the author takes us on an unflinching trip through this period. Coupled with a haunting narration, the audiobook version creates a sense of dread and apprehension that is not easy to shake. A great listen for thriller and horror fans.

Outstanding Horror Novella

I enjoyed this horror prequel a lot. From the opening paragraphs until the end, I was mesmerized by the story. The saddest part about this story was that it was too short. The physical descriptions of the characters were left to the reader's imagination, but their actions painted their own unique physicality. I loved the character named "The Bone Maiden". The tale was filled with plenty of action and maintained an intense, ominous aura. I'm looking forward to the series. Eric Burgher's narration was stellar, and his performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
