Publisher's summary

The international best-selling series with more than five million copies sold in the US alone!

Still far from their homeland after escaping slavery in the icebound land of Skandia, Will and Evanlyn's plans to return to Araluen are spoiled when Evanlyn is taken captive by a Temujai warrior. Though still weakened by the warmweed's toxic effects, Will employs his Ranger training to locate his friend, but an enemy scouting party has him fatally outnumbered.

Will is certain death is close at hand, until Halt and Horace make a daring, last-minute rescue. The reunion is cut short, however, when Halt makes a horrifying discovery: Skandia's borders have been breached by the entire Temujai army. And Araluen is next in their sights.

If two kingdoms are to be saved, an unlikely union must be made. Will it hold long enough to vanquish a ruthless new enemy? Or will past tensions spell doom for all?

The battles and drama are nonstop in audiobook four of this hugely popular epic.

Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, T.H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones/a Song of Ice and Fire series.

Amazing adventure

I've been reading the Rangers Apprentice book series since my freshman year in high school, and even though I slowly made my way trough the first three books, I always connected with the protagonist Will, being a distant and short teenager myself. And now a couple of years later I finally pick back up this series with the fourth book and listened to it in a matter of days. I regret not returning to this adventure sooner, for it was an amazing journey and the best posible conclusion to the cliffhanger left on the third book that loomed over me for these past few years. I was left with a heart ache in the end though, and I eagerly look forward to continue reading the journeys of Will, the Rangers Apprentice.

Ive loved these books since I was a kid

I loved listening to this series. I read them as a kid and I listen to them with my son in the car. I hope when he’s older he gets into this series.

Why would you change the narrator on chapter 11 after having John keeting for so many books of his.

I dislike only because you changed narrators. He has been reading them for five books.

Great book as usual

I felt like there was a bit of a lack of emotion in this book. Story was till good... but also, I found it strange the the author seemed to bounce between POV, which he didn't do in the other books, which confused me at times. Maybe this one was rushed.

The battle was interesting and well written.
