Publisher's summary

Dorothy Hartzler, a restless young Amish woman, dreams of something more than the traditional Amish life. With her mother ill and her fear of being alone increasing, Dorothy is forced to make decisions. When she is thrown into Saul Beachey’s company, she questions her reluctance to open her heart.

After disaster strikes, Dorothy leaves home and starts anew in a neighboring Amish community, where she finds work at an old-fashioned café. As she grapples with starting over and letting go of the past, Dorothy must decide whether to embrace the possibilities of the future and a new love, or cling to the safety of the familiar.

Cozy story, excellent performance

An Amish Café is yet another enjoyable Amish romance written by a well-versed author in the Amish way of life, Hannah Miller.

The two-hour-long audiobook follows Dorothy Hartzler, a young woman who yearns for more than the simple Amish way of living. She feels restless and dissatisfied with her choices all the time. But when tragedy strikes, Dorothy is forced to leave her home and start anew in a neighboring Amish community where she works at a quaint café. There, she makes new friends and even has a chance at love. The question remains: Will Dorothy embrace the change and open her heart, or will she hold on to the past and return to what’s familiar?

The audiobook version of An Amish Café benefits greatly from the exceptional narration of Trudi Knoedler, whose talent and captivating delivery have made her a recognizable and familiar voice in the world of Amish romance audiobooks. Each time I discover her name attached to an audio production in this genre, I know I am in for a good time, as she expertly brings any story to life in a pleasant and entertaining manner.

Dorothy’s story is artfully brought to life with talent, emotion, and professionalism, making it a truly enjoyable listening experience. If you like short, cozy, and entertaining romance audiobooks and have a fascination for the Amish culture, then An Amish Café is an easy recommendation.
