Publisher's summary

Zeus has punished his son Apollo - god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more - by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered 16-year-old mortal named Lester. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. What is affecting the Oracles, and how can Apollo/Lester do anything about them without his powers?

After experiencing a series of dangerous - and, frankly, humiliating - trials at Camp Half-Blood, Lester must now leave the relative safety of the demigod training ground and embark on a hair-raising journey across North America. Fortunately, what he lacks in godly graces he's gaining in new friendships - with heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series. Come along for what promises to be a harrowing, hilarious, and haiku-filled ride....

Critic reviews

"Narrator Robbie Daymond is perfectly tuned in as events take a darker turn in this sequel to The Hidden Oracle.... There's plenty of adventure and humor here, and listeners will finish this installment already eager for the next one." ( AudioFile)

Percy Jackson is the eponymous hero of the best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. He made his debut in The Lightning Thief at just 12 years old, where he discovered the shocking truth about his parentage: He is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the god Poseidon. Beyond his own series, he was one of the protagonists in the Heroes of Olympus series and has since appeared in other spin-off novels and series from Riordan.

Always Enjoyable!!

I just love Rick Riordan books and this one is no expection. I the Apollo's story and how this books continues his journey of redemption.

Great book for all ages. Also great way yo get you men into reading. Also a fun way to learn Greek, Roman culture and history.

**Side note, reading Percy Jackson's stories/books is helpful before this Apollo series, however you don't necessarily need to also. Good story on its own but in context very helpful.

Thanks again, great book and great performance !

Love the Story, Hate the Homophobic Reviews

I really like this book. I think this third series is honestly my favorite. One of the biggest strengths of this book in particular is the relationships. Jo and Apollo's heart-to-heart after the trauma of Apollo's betrayal of his ex-boyfriend hit me. The care she and Emi have for each other and Georgie is so heartwrenching, it brought tears to my eyes.

To the homophobes, I ask. how is this concern for each other and their daughter dirty? How is Apollo's love for Hyacinthus and for the second emperor any less appropriate than his love for Daphne, which also ended badly? I don't see any of you complaining when Zeus's infidelity is mentioned. Is it better to have or betray your lovers if you're straight?

Apollo's love for his male lovers isn't any more sexual than that for his female lovers. The LGBT+ community didn't ask you to fetishize us. We didn't ask you to objectify us and reduce us to your narrow view of our sex lives. This kind of homophobia has cost real people their jobs, health, homes, and even lives.

If you have an issue with this story, then fine. But stop slandering gay people in your reviews. You clearly don't actually understand anything about us, so don't pretend otherwise.

Why it’s perfect

I think this audible was so good because it talks about Percy Jackson and I am a big fan of Percy Jackson and I’m not the people that only watch the movie or only hear the audible once I watched it more than 6 times so this is a ten out of ten

First person fun

This book is different from the other Percy Jackson series, and that it is written in the first person from the perspective of Apollo. Fun. Great story.
