Publisher's summary

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court - but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court.

As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms - and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future - and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas' masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Shippers will either Love it or Hate it

When we last left Feyre, she freed Tamlin, his court and the whole of Prythian. But at the cost of killing two innocent fae. So the last book ended with Feyre having to deal with the aftermath of her actions and of dying and being resurrected as a High Fae.

If you come into this book curious about how Feyre is coping. Or wanting to know what was up with Rhysand stumbling during his last interaction with Feyre. Or what is up with the bargain he made with Feyre. Or what exactly began Tamlin and Rhys' enmity. Or what are the other courts like. Or what the hell Feyre's last name is.

Then your curiousity will be satisfied.

However, if you come into this book with a high investment on who Feyre ends up with, all I can say is that you will either be very elated or crushingly disappointed.

Personally, I like the book and its continuity with the first book. I like how the author handles Feyre's character development for this book. I don't really care much about who Feyre ends up with as I like both the guys introduced in the first book.

But from a shipping perspective, I can pretty much see how a reader rooting for one guy would be enraged or elated at how the romance department goes.

So just be prepared

Finally, I just want to comment that this title should not be under the Teen category. If you're a parent who has any plans on buying this for under 17 children, you might have reservations because this book has even more graphic sex scenes than the first book.

Should not be listed 11-13 yr old, adult content

I contacted Audible asking to have these books listed differently, because I would not want my 13 year old listening to this yet. A few very discriptive sex scenes. I feel the author is writing for the "New Adult" interest level.

I enjoy the books, this one more than the first. Court of Mist and Fury has Feyre struggling with her actions in the first book and trying to figure out why she fell in love so deeply, leaving her to question if it was really love.

Seductive Audiobook!

What made the experience of listening to A Court of Mist and Fury the most enjoyable?

The 2nd book in the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, finds Feyre and Tamlin struggling with their arduous time under the mountain with horrible nightmares and intense guilt and insecurity. Also added to her woes is the impending deal she struck with Rhys for saving her from Amarantha. I loved Maas's characters with their scheming, darkness, horror, and magic; the worlds of Feyre, Tamlin & Rhys are lush, beautiful and alluring. I fell in love with Tamlin's world through Feyre's eyes and then the dark lords underworld of dreams and nightmares. And I rooted for Feyre as she learns to use the 7 High Lords powers from Rhy's commanders Cassian, Azriel, Amren and Morrigan. This book is so seductive in so many ways, I could not put it down and I hope I don't have to wait a whole year for the 3rd book!!! I listened to this audiobook, narrated by Jennifer Ikeda and I loved all 23 hours!!! Highly recommended!!!

What other book might you compare A Court of Mist and Fury to and why?

A Court of Thorns and Roses because A Court of Mist and Fury continues and deepens Feyre's story and the world of High Lords, faeries, fey, monsters, and nightmares!!! Could not stop listening!!!

What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?

She was able to seamlessly thread between multiple characters & voices (Male & female). Her voices were exciting, seductive, and tantalizing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A fantastic scheming ending to a book that will lead to the 3rd in the series!!!

Any additional comments?

Do I have to wait another year for the next book? I will only listen to the audiobook as I am addicted to Ikeda's narration!!!

The book is absolutely AMAZING. This audiobook.... Not so much

Seriously one of my favorite books but the voice drones on and on. The voice also makes many mistakes. I know because i follow along reading while she speaks. She also doesn't do a good job of putting emotion or any sort of feeling into her words that the book obviously has.

GREAT BOOK- NOT FOR TEENS!!

Any additional comments?

Rating really needs to be changed. I would never allow my 11 or 13 year old to read/ listen to this.

Glitch in the audio, but still a good book

I love the narrator, but someone messed up editing this. In the middle of a couple of paragraphs you can clearly hear the narrator has redone a sentence, and it throws you off and undo the build-up of the chapter. I kept waiting for it to happen more, luckily it didn’t. But still annoying. Not the narrators fault though.
Because I hate stories with possessive men who are whiny I didn’t like the beginning of this book, but it got a lot better.
