- Italian pedagogue Loris Malaguzzi founded the Reggio Emilia approach, which was inspired by the collaborative effort among children who helped rebuild that city after World War II. Malaguzzi developed a primary education curriculum that focuses first on growing children’s talents and unique strengths before teaching them academic subjects.
- The Reggio Emilia approach encourages children to figure out solutions to any problems they encounter by themselves, with minimal interference from their teachers. This enables children to grow into who they are, not who their parents and teachers want them to become.
