Publisher's summary

Stacey Evans wants only one thing: to be the best alpine ski racer she can be. Everything else—like her sweet and ultra-supportive best friend and hot-but-vapid girlfriend—is just a bonus. Fresh from a medal at her first Olympics, Stacey knows she can only get better and is firmly focused on the future, and totally not thinking about how she’s kind of a little in love with that sweet, ultra-supportive best friend....

Gemma Archer has had a crush on Stacey from the moment she first saw her, but being her best friend is so amazing that she’s almost managed to push that crush aside. Almost. But even if Gemma finds the courage to tell Stacey how she really feels, there’s a mountain of obstacles to overcome—like the fact Gemma’s stepmom is Stacey’s coach (awkward) and Gemma will be going away to college in a few months. And most importantly...what if admitting how she feels ruins the best friendship she’s ever had?

Schuss brings back two beloved side characters from E. J. Noyes’ best-selling, award-winning novel Gold.

She does it again and again

Loved how this relationship grew into such a beautiful thing, felt so real and raw just like it does in real life.

Always Enjoy E.J.

Love getting to know these two characters. Just enough angst, humor, love. Would like more of this story in another book - would be fun.

Loved it

One of my favorite authors and narrators. I loved getting the continuation of “Gold” focused on new main characters.

excellent story of young adults forging a relation

I love the background of the challenges of a professional athlete.

Just the right amount of angst.

Sooo Cute!

I really enjoy this young love story. I had read the previous book about Aspen and Kate which was fabulous and I was left with want to know more about these characters. I found Schuss while looking for more by Noyes…I love how she develops the characters and makes me, the reader, feel their thoughts and emotions. I look forward to trying one of her other books about crime or the military. I highly recommend the Noyes / Carden combo

Will buy anything EJ Noyes writes, but this was not a favorite

I’m a huge fan of EJ Noyes, especially when combined with the talents of Abby Craden, but this book should definitely be promoted as a YA novel.

Pros: Likable characters, sweet story, fun continuation of previous novel Gold, enjoyed getting to know Gemma and Stacy better, as always, funny/quick-witted writing and great narration. Impressed by Noyes’ ability to write such believable and likable young people.

Cons: The youthfulness of the main characters was hard to get past in the context of a romance novel. Story didn’t have the brilliantly clever plot line or heart thumping romance typical of Noyes. It was uncharacteristically predictable. Gen Z storyline was a bit young for a wlw romance IMO.

Always happy support Noyes, but this was a one and done listen. If you plan to listen to a sweet YA novel, you won’t be disappointed in Schuss, as it is a very sweet followup to Gold and also works well as a stand-alone.

Great Young Love Story

Love the story line and the narration of course. This was well worth the extra credits it took to purchase! Would definitely be reading again and recommending to my friends!
