Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, Corrie Marsten fell hard and got dumped. Now, her only loves are sailing, and power. By day, she works as the head instructor for the University of Rhode Island's Sailing Center. Once night falls, she indulges in frequent casual sex with her friends, all of who know that like the wind, she can't be tethered. When Corrie meets vet student Quinn Davies, an enrollee in the summer sailing course, she senses Quinn's attraction and comes on strong. Quinn, though drawn to the charismatic Corrie, doesn't reciprocate for important reasons of her own, leaving Corrie frustrated, tantalized, and intrigued. As the summer progresses, Corrie and Quinn gradually develop a friendship that hints at so much more. Will Quinn admit her growing attraction? Will Corrie be able to forgive, forget, and love again? When fate conspires to make them teammates in a high-stakes sailing regatta, will they run with the wind, or resist it?

When a narrator completely ruins EVERYTHING!

Is that supposed to be a Brooklyn accent? The character Quinn sounds like some mobster who smokes 12 packs a day. Another minor character sounds like an extra in guys and dolls. And then worst of all, Corrie, the take charge player, sounds like a cheerleader. Seriously??? Does anyone direct these? Who reads the books and then cast them like this?

Overall pleasant read!

I really enjoyed this book. Sailing is completely foreign to me but I still enjoyed the technicality of it all. The characters were very interesting to me, especially of of the main character, Corrie. I found her profoundly sad and a little twisted, but so very normal. Was good to see how she unfolded throughout the story. The romantic scenes were slightly minimal but 3good when they occurred. Overall, good book!!

A+

there are a lot of lesbians / bi romances out there that are hard to listen to but this one exceeded my expectations.

Horrible Narrator

Good story. Terrible reading. Never will buy a book with this narrator. Hire better ones.

Read it, listen

After Spanish hearts, seemed out Newhouse. Love the voice, story is fun. Love being educated in new things. Now I must go sailing! After the story, I feel like I have a suntan.

Variable Experience as an Audiobook

Don’t read near as much as a listen for many reasons. This is one of those I can Imagine might have been better read. But I just don’t know. Narration was rough at times. Accents were hit and miss, sometimes forgotten as characters seemed to get mixed up. Other times it was so “on” I forgot I wasn’t enjoying the narration before.

As a story, it had many great moments. Like a mature, but so lovable for her innocence, lead character named Quinn, who had some good internal and external dialogue. The sailing insights and writing was fun and exciting. And Corey (sp?) was exciting and sometimes pretty easy to dislike. I struggled between a 3 and 4 star rating for the story but had to make a choice.

I absolutely adored this book!

It took a few minutes getting use to the narrator's voice, but it wasn't long before it started flowing.
it is one I well listen to multiple times. The characters are easy to like, then love.

The storyline was great. The fluctuations in characters were fun, and energizing!
