Lisa Miller is a widowed mother of two little girls, Carly and Miki. Her husband died just a year ago, after a long battle with cancer and she misses him immensely. Friends want her to start dating again but in her heart, she knows there isn't a man on the planet she could love like her Mark. Who could love their girls like their own. Therefore, she'll stay alone.

When Lisa is discovered "unprotected" at her husband's grave, she wakes on an alien ship heading for an alien world. Refusing to accept this she confronts the large males, demanding she be returned to her children. Seeing his chance to have a female, Grim agrees to accept and protect her offspring, if she agrees to Join with him and only him. Realizing this is the only way she can retrieve her children Lisa agrees, and the Tornian Empire changes forever.

Those who have rated this book without willfully suspending their disbelief. You missed it. I am glad I bought this book. It was different and well done. I WANT MORE!!!! I am so bummed this was book one. Ah well another author on my watch list.

Best Sci Fi romance ever!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book not having read anything written by the author before. It offered not only romance but intrigue. The mystery pulled the reader along and helped to explain this new world and their customs. The narration is different than I'm accustomed to but appropriate, and it worked beautifully. I found it fit with the whole sci fi premise. I highly recommend this audiobook. Cheers!

I love this book story is great, I read the whole series so I m hoping for the other two books on audible

Both narrators did a good job of performing this book and it helped that the material they were using was excellent. I just found myself a new author and will also look for the narrators in other books. Well done, everybody.

great plot

I love this story. The Voice app acting was not so great but tolerable because this plot was so good. the sex scenes addef to the plot, but didn't make the story. you find you self listening for the plot twist not the sex, but it is a nice addition. I find i' going to read the whole series and hope they are as good as this one.

Beginning of a family.

The Tornians males sinned against their Goddess and was therefore punished. The Godess's curse lowered the female child birthrate making an odd imbalance in Tornian society.
The family unit was destroyed.
Now the seeds have been planted snd the time is right to fix old woes.
Really good book...One I have read many times.

great story

I love the storyline but was annoyed with the narrators because they didn't convey much emotion and all the characters sounded the same

fun sci fi love story

the audio production is truly excellent. The sound effects really bolster the telling. And with two voice actors the characterizations are much more dynamic. The political and cultural aspects are well devised, but this is more a romance novel set in a different world than anything else. That is not a detraction, simply a description of a very enjoyable narrative. recommended.

Great story but....

This was a great story but was sometimes taken away from it by the narration. Lisa (and most of the females) sounded like a 80 year old woman. The male narration was good in some voices not so much on others. Even with this would definitely recommend was still a great listen.

Great book!!

This was a really good listen! I'm glad I found it. It was different and refreshing and I hope the other books will be available on audio soon!!
