Publisher's summary

The first arc in Morgan's Rise to Omniscience. Over 650,000 words in one convenient box set!

This set contains books 1-5 of Rise to Omniscience, as well as the audio exclusive short story, "Beast Zone".

Morgan's life is not easy.

Growing up on the streets of City Four, he is constantly shunned by the other citizens. Morgan doesn't mind being ignored. What he does mind, though, are the constant beatings from the city guards due to his friendship with Sarah, the city lord's only daughter.

Lord Simon wants him dead, but the laws of the kingdom are on Morgan’s side, and even the guards won't kill him just for being seen near his manor. Morgan’s time is running out, though. Lord Simon has deep pockets, and his last visit to the manor may just have put him over the edge. Worse, he is nearing his 16th birthday, and has yet to awaken any abilities. In a world where might makes right, he has never been one of the mighty. What will he do when faced with a life-altering decision, and just how will his decision impact those around him?

Warning: This book contains some profanity, gore, and content that may not be suitable for children. This book also contains GameLit elements such as stat sheets and a form of leveling and experience gain.

Decent, long. Good for the credit

The book has a fairly good storyline, decent plots. It kind of drags at times but since it has so many books in a collection it’s nice to have a good long listen if you go through a lot of books like I do. So it’s well worth the credit if you use them, not sure what the price would be, but I wouldn’t spend more than $15 on it. I wouldn’t call it one of my top 20 books, but I listen to books a lot so getting one that is worth listening too and not having to wait for the next book to come out or having to use a bunch of credits up for a series is nice.

Enjoyed this great value read

Ahhhhhh I needed that. Thanks for the filling 5 course meal of LitRPG. Heavy on the Lit and just a dulap of RPG stats talk.

neat

The story was engaging. The reader performed Gold perfectly along with a few others. the rest however sounded extremely similar.

Just listener

I loved the story but the constant replaying of stats took a toll on my fast forward button finger

a great read

I have been a huge fan of lit RPGs for the last couple of years. this series has been amazing. the story line is good, the tempo is good and I did not see the ending of book five coming..... which is saying something from my point of view. I highly recommend if you are looking for a story to lose yourself in. at least 12 stars.

turn your brain off & enjoy.

The MC makes a lot of decisions that will make you want to kill him yourself, but as of book 2, it's decent.

Somewhere between sociopathic indifference and childish naïveté

Definitely an easy listen, by no means a masterpiece or anything but if you are like me and enjoy back ground noise and something I don’t mind if I accidentally tuned out a couple times and feel like I missed something. The power system is really cool, kind of a cake and eat it too type of deal. Character development remains to be seen as I get further in the series. At times it’s hard to parse whether this is a young adult book or adult book, the tone feels very immature and handles dark themes kind of callous and matter of factly. I.e: the Villains are clearly villains and are kind of just assholes for no good reason. This is basically one piece meets black clover.
