Story
Why do women keep themselves small and quiet? Why do they hold back professionally and personally? What fuels the uncertainty and lack of confidence so many women often feel? In this paradigm-shifting book, leading feminist thinker Bethany Webster identifies the source of women’s trauma. She calls it the Mother Wound - the systemic disenfranchisement of women by the patriarchy - and reveals how this cycle is perpetuated by wounded mothers who unconsciously pass on damaging beliefs and behaviors to their daughters.

Story
Each of us has a dual nature: we are light (conscious) and dark (unconscious). The dark side of our personality - the “other,” the shadow side - is made up of what we think is our primitive, primal, negative impulses - our “existential kink.” Our existential kink also drives the dark or negative repeating patterns in our life: always choosing the abusive partner or boss, settling for less, thinking that we’re undeserving, not worthy. But it also is the source of our greatest power.

Long before the sword-wielding heroes of legend readily cut down forests, slaughtered the old deities, and vanquished their enemies, there were playful gods, animal-headed kings, mischievous lovers, trickster harpists, and vegetal magicians with flowering wands. As eco-feminist scholar Sophie Strand discovered, these wilder, more magical modes of the masculine have always been hidden in plain sight.

Our current definition of “productivity” is broken. It pushes us to treat busyness as a proxy for useful effort, leading to impossibly lengthy task lists and ceaseless meetings. We’re overwhelmed by all we have to do and on the edge of burnout, left to decide between giving into soul-sapping hustle culture or rejecting ambition altogether. But are these really our only choices?

Yet all is not lost - we just need to learn how to take time for ourselves, without agenda or profit, and redefine what is truly worthwhile.

Publisher's summary
What kind of impact could your business make if you integrated the most powerful systems on Earth:
THE SYSTEMS OF NATURE?
Since the Industrial Revolution, much of human history has revolved around conquering Nature. But just as species have been hunted to extinction and forests have been leveled to create farmland and factories, the wildness inside you, too, has been suppressed.
You’ve been taught that your wildness is unsafe. You’ve distanced yourself from the untamed parts of your soul: your creativity, your prolific ideas, your truest life.
But to become the business owner you long to be, you need to unleash your wildness.
Regenerative business creates fertile ground within you to unearth and express your soul purpose. It stewards a version of you that’s fully in bloom. It’s creative, healing, and intentional, and it births a better world for future generations.
This book will not only help you get in touch with your truest, unrestrained self. It will also help you use the principles of Nature to realign your business with your unique essence for all the abundance, fulfillment, and impact you crave.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

I'll be listening to this audiobook again and again. The takeaways are abundant! I'm looking forward to diving into the prompts, practices, and pieces of implementation. Thank you Sam!

great read!
Straight to the point of what's real! Sam said what many have been trying to convey, so clearly! Dirty Alchemy is a great addition of knowledge as I build a business to impact generations! Her call to action is inspiring!

A beautiful story of how nature and biz collide
This is my favorite business book to date. Thought provoking, inspiring and informative. Highly recommend for freelancers and business owners who care for the environment and the nature that inspires us.

Amazing message
Sam Garcia gives a perspective of business I’ve never heard of before: likening nature and ecosystems and environmental activism as the perfect metaphor to growing an abundant, magickal business that contributes to the world…and to you, its owner. Very inspiring! I would highly recommend! (Also, it’s short enough that I finished this in 1 day!)

Good content
The audiobook wasn’t great quality and editing needed another pass over. It was distracting at times.
