Publisher's summary

He had never heard himself scream before. It was terrifying.

Alone, trapped in the darkness and with no way out, Bart Campbell knows that his chances of being found alive are slim.

Drugged and kidnapped from his Edinburgh home, the realisation soon dawns that he’s been locked inside a shipping container - but what Bart doesn’t know is that he’s now heading for France, where his unspeakable fate is already sealed....

DCI Ava Turner and DI Luc Callanach are working on separate cases that soon collide as it becomes clear that the men and women being shipped to France are being traded for women trafficked into Scotland.

With so many lives at stake, it seems an impossible task - but there’s no option of failure when Bart and so many others will soon be dead....

The next gripping thriller from the best-selling crime author Helen Fields.

The perfect read for fans of M. J. Arlidge and Karin Slaughter.

Critic reviews

"Perfect Kill is a compelling breathless read. Unflinching, brave and so well researched and considered." (Essie Fox)

"Utterly compelling, as ever, and dizzyingly twisted, with characters so real they could step off the page." (BP Walter)

DCI Turner Series?

Yes, another fine novel.

I have long since taken umbrage that this series is called the “DI Luc Callanach” series. I’m certain all readers of these novels adore Luc Callanach. With that said, DCI Ava Turner is the real badass. How paternalistic to name this series after the leading man. I’m not a hardcore feminist. Isn’t it time to rename this series to the Turner and Callanach series? Seriously.

Unpleanaant

I found this one difficult to get into, maybe because of all the graphic drawn out suffering & torture of innocent helpless victims. Also, irrating conflict between Luc & Ava, she blew out of portion & was judgemental & lacked compassion just when Her & Luc confessed their feelings for each other.
