Publisher's summary

A deeply thoughtful self-help series.

In our second volume, we add thoughts about the structure of the Universe to our models. Come join our discussion as we use modern science to construct a view of the Cosmos as seen from the outside and our existence as humans within it. With this new information, we will improve our understanding of what it is to exist as a human here on Earth.

The Outsider Model

If we want to improve ourselves, we should first try to understand ourselves. If we want to control our thoughts and our actions, we should first try to understand the origins of our thoughts and our actions. In this short series, we develop a model to help us understand ourselves as living, breathing human beings in a physical universe. This process will help us understand why we feel and act as we do. Our discussion is presented in a simple, easy-to-read format, but because humans and the world in which we live are complex, some deep thinking is required in order to gain the understanding we seek.

Our model is developed in three short books. The books are listed in a logical order, but they may be read in any order. Each book is written to stand on its own, with reviews of key points from previous work, so a reader may choose which topics interest them most.

Outsider: A Model of Being Human
In volume one, the reader will enjoy text that is easy to read and induces some serious consideration of what it is to be alive. Come join our discussion as we think through building a model of being human. We will learn a way of looking at ourselves to help us understand why we say the things we say and do the things we do. It's a thoughtful process that helps us understand our past actions and control how we may act in the future.

Outsider: A Model of the Cosmos

In our second volume, we add thoughts about the structure of the Universe to our models. Come join our discussion as we use modern science to construct a view of the Cosmos as seen from the outside and our existence as humans within it. With this new information, we will improve our understanding of what it is to exist as a human here on Earth.

Outsider: A Model of Religion

In the third volume, we complete our models with some deep thoughts on religion. Ideas of a god, or gods, creating the Universe and interacting with humans have been part of human culture since its beginnings. Even today, with all the advances in modern science, most humans consider themselves to be religious. Come join our discussion as we add to our models ideas of how a Creator God, or gods, may interact with human beings. We will end with a heart, mind, body, and soul model of being human, as seen from a human soul’s perspective.
