ANOTHER AMAZING TALE

I am not sure why, but true crime has a hold on me. I am constantly baffled by the events which take place within the pages of these stories. I want to understand how lives can spiral so far out of control, while the world moves on.

This book captivated me from the first. I had a hard time putting it down, so I did so only to sleep. As I listened to Kevin Pierce, I felt the the frustration, the agonizing helplessness of all the people who were swept up in this tragedy. Understood that there is never a "winning" side, even if justice is achieved.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes this type of book. It is cleverly written, and Kevin Pierce has an amazing way of telling the tale. Oddly, he has become one of my favorite narrators.

A Killer Among Us - Excellent

The performance by Kevin Pierce was excellent. He breathed live into a well written story. As for Charles Bosworth, the story drew you in from start to finish. I didn't want to stop listening, even to eat or go out. I can't wait to listen to his other true story crime books and hopefully it's read by Kevin Pierce. And to others who like true crime, don't miss 'A Killer Among Us.'

Great story with a great narrator.

Great story, very well written and Kevin Pierce is my favorite narrator. Throughly enjoyed it.

Good read

This is one book that I will probably read again, and that is something that I rarely do.

Drawn-out. I struggled to get through it.

The narrator sounded like he was reading the news in monotone. Too much detail of all the family members. Although a true story, it could have been written in a different style I believe.

This book really got to me...How sick our society can really be and how dishonesty can bring us to a point of no return...Rather than Rick Decarlo just stepping up and divorcing his wife he chose to kill because he was a coward he left so many people so heartbroken because the truth is its the loved ones that suffer for the remainder of there lives ....Elizabeths family will always feel the loss and pain of what one mans selfish sick weakness brought him to kill the mother of his children and daughter and sister of her family..

Great Story, Boring Reading

The story is heartbreaking however, the reading didn't catch me. In fact, I found myself rewinding and re listening to a lot of the details as it dragged on too much. Too much detail in one sentence is not always a good thing.

Excellent read; was hard to put down

I found it hard to put down. I was emotionally invested in what happens and happened to the characters and they were well described in so much as I felt I knew them. I’m a fan of Charles Bosworth and recommend reading his other books as well as this one

Heart wrenching story

Yes I would. This is a true crime story. It's a long book to listen to but well worth it.

Justice finally prevailed.

I didn't really have a favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they found Rick not guilty at his state trial. I was very angered, also at all the abusive things his kids had to endure at his hands.

Kevin Pierce is the best

Someone wrote a review that they could "listen to Kevin Pierce read a grocery list," and I couldn't agree more.

The story was a bit one-sided though, and unfortunately I was 100% convinced that the final verdict was correct. I'd like to read an account from the Decaro side just to balance out the story a bit. Otherwise, it was compelling and a great read.
