Publisher's summary

The new novel in the beloved New York Times best-selling Longmire series.

One of the most viewed paintings in American history, Custer's Last Fight, copied and distributed by Anheuser-Busch at a rate of more than two million copies a year, was destroyed in a fire at the 7th Cavalry Headquarters in Fort Bliss, Texas, in 1946. Or was it? When Charley Lee Stillwater dies of an apparent heart attack at the Wyoming Home for Soldiers & Sailors, Walt Longmire is called in to try and make sense of a piece of a painting and a Florsheim shoebox containing a million dollars, sending the good sheriff on the trail of a dangerous art heist.

Wonderful

Always happy to visit friends in Absoroka county. Classic Longmire tale interwoven with local history. George Guidall’s performance brings everything to life.

Good Longmire tale

Enjoyed this much better than last one featuring Mexican adventure. More of the typical tongue in cheek Longmire story. Not enough of Henry though.

I love these books

I think George Godel is the perfect narrator for these. I wish that the bear have been in more of the recent books. I think he's a spiritual connection it really fits these things over the top. I'm so happy to have Craig Johnson to fill in the space that was left by Tony hillerman.

Another highly recommended Walt Longmire book

Another Great Story

I appreciate a story that manages to combine a lot of laughs along with the serious thread of the tale. I enjoyed this book the most of all Craig Johnson’s work,,.and I have read them all.
