Trouble always seems to find Stone Barrington, but with his debonair charm, unflappable composure, and cunning foresight, he always gets his man (and his lady).

Critic reviews

“Another entertaining episode in what has become a bit of a soap opera about the rich and famous.... With the socially relevant backdrops of the president, privacy and the paparazzi, there is enough intrigue to connect the dots between the last book and the next one that's sure to come.” (Associated Press)

“[An] irresistible, luxury-soaked soap opera.” (Publishers Weekly)

Is it time to retire Stone?

After 42 books in this series, the author seems to have run out of good material. Maybe Stone Barrington and his friends need to be retired.

This book offered very little in the way of a plot line . The books that included Teddie Fay were interesting and entertaining.

No plot, boring story.

Struggled to pay attention to this one. I love Stuart Woods and the character Stone Barrington but this book was a waste of time and credit. No action, nothing about this book grabs your attention. All the regular characters and a couple new ones. I hope this one is leading us to future action stories with Stone or it might be time to put this series to bed.

Stone Cold!

Like dead fish, Stone gets more foul with age. Eating, drinking and f...king his way through "high" society, this is a story only a liberal democrat wannabe could love. The story is so formulaic it's almost laughable. Mr Woods must need to fill up his Cessna, if this book was an ILS, Stuart would be waved off. The only thing worse than this being #42, is that I read the last 5. NUTS! DONE and DONE...bye bye Stone.

Great as always !

I am a raving fan and love the way Stuart Woods weaves the many sub plots into the main story. Easy to listen to and impossible to stop until the very end.

not one of your best

I enjoy the characters of your book I read many I found the repeat of the history too repetitive to really enjoy the book as much as I have others I'm buying the next one as I'm trying to complete the series But on a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this at 4

A bit disapointed. The end was weak.

What happened to a solid ending? When did Stuart Woods ever leave a murder attempt unsolved? It was like they just gave up at the end.??????? Let down.
