Many horse trainers, even those who espouse the so-called natural horsemanship approach, take the position that horses who fail to obey a human's request are doing so as much out of perversity as ignorance. That's not Mark Rashid's view. In his words, "If we understand that horses can't separate the way they feel from the way they act, then we can start to see that unwanted behavior isn't bad behavior at all. More times than not, it's just the horse expressing the way he feels at that particular moment in time....

Three and a half centuries later, Amsterdam is once again the mecca for people who care passionately about one particular plant—though this time the obsessions revolves around the intoxicating effects of marijuana rather than the visual beauty of the tulip. How could flowers, of all things, become such objects of desire that they can drive men to financial ruin?

This book saved my life!
During the pandemic, we moved out of the big city to live in a cute little house in the woods. Our house has an amazing yard with lots of flower gardens and according to our neighbors, one of the prior owners was an avid gardener and had the yard in tip top shape. The yard had not been attended for a few years and everything is overgrown. Unfortunately, we didn't know the difference between a shrub and a weed so we're having to educate ourselves about landscaping and garden design. This book literally saved us so much money and gave us lots of really great ideas on how to redesign our gardens. I'm so excited to continue working out our plan and executing it with the ideas and tips we got in this book!
