Liked it a lot!

Everyone loves a story of a rake reforming because he falls in love with a woman! I liked it too because her mother was wrong and a prejudiced person, her father was easygoing, her aunt had been scandalous the main woman character when she was young, the main woman character was feisty, stubborn, argumentative, sexy and thoughtful! The main male character had his freedom, yes, but he had not been loved as a child and did not know how being loved felt. Therefore he, at first, led his life as a "rake", not knowing any better. But the woman did understand him, because she has been a wallflower most of her life, and thought of herself as ugly. It was a good book because the characters did make mistakes, but still tried to be better!

Good story

I enjoyed this story every much. It moved along very well and was full of sass and fun. However, I almost gave up on the book as the narrator was basically intolerable. She was unable to create different voices which made it hard to follow sometimes. I find I enjoy dual narration.

What a great story. I'm usually not into the period stories but this one really got my attention. I love love such a great read

Wonderful book-story and ending. Great characters, writing and I enjoyed the one that read the book!!

Unexpectedly sweet

This was a delightful listen. Everything you want out of a HR with unique and lovable characters. Had a bit of an issue with the narrator, she seemed to much older for the main characters but it wasn’t enough to hinder the enjoyment of my listening too much.

Mislead but happy

The story is not as described but was very good. Quite sexy not my usual preference but done well.

The descriptions of the scenes were very precise. the characters were very well written.

Joy to listen to

the story was read beautifully and the so engrossing I absolutely loved it such a sweet love story with a little hot put in but not too much and it was very good I really enjoyed it I would recommend it to anybody who likes these kind of books romance novels cuz it was very romantic

Brilliant author and narrator

I adore this author. I’m so many of these HAE / Romance stories they rely on the “chemistry for no reason” to explain attraction. Caroline Linden weaves such delightful tales that it’s clear why anyone would fall in love with these people. The most amazing thing to me is that in each novel the protagonists have different personalities, strengths, weaknesses, etc but she writes them so well.

Great romance

This has been one of the best books I have purchased! Their chemistry and steamy romance scenes are so well written which makes the book great to listen to. The voice actor did great and did not make the characters sound stuffy.
