Spencer Ellis is a homeless man who only a few years earlier was a successful real estate salesman. Successful until he met the "woman of his dreams" who turned his life into a living hell; marrying him, divorcing him, and then taking his kids away. Now, years later, he is homeless and sees his ex-wife living the high life in a fancy restaurant. He follows her with plans of violent revenge. Can he fight off his inner demons and spare her life?

Enjoyable.

Enjoyable. Wasn't expecting the ending though. Will forward it to a few of my friends to enjoy.

okay, but not super great

not nearly as engaging as Hankins other works and the choppy performance made it worse

Good Story, Horrible Narration.

Good story, but very poor narration. Voice was robotic, errors made which required backtracking. Disappointig.

Shocking ending to a short story!

At 48 minutes Last to Die is a very short story, but the author tells a complete and interesting story. Th plot twist at the end came as a big surprise to me. This is a suspense thriller about vengeance.

Good, but didn't note it was only 48 minutes!

Hate it when I purchase books without realizing they are short stories. Not sure when it became popular to sell these one-by-one rather than as part of a collection, but I hate that practice. Love the author but come on, what's up? You needed to meet a deadline so you delivered a few chapters from the middle of a story and tagged it a complete book? Askiny more than 99 cents for a 48 minute reading (a partial fee for a partial story, right?) is a travesty and I a pracfice that I, as a writer would be loathe to do (although perhaps it is meant as a double-entendred parrelelism of capitalist greed rotting from within, much like the villians' practices in the story that drive our beleaugered hero to devistation). Bad move - to insult the reader as this would have been, a good offering for a collection of short stories. This practace seems to have originated from my friend James Patterson, who is a dear man and a trailblazer but. such bathroom session books" are a "STRIKE-OUT" with this reader regardless of talent evidenced or interest (very temporarily) captured. Rasberry and 2 thumbs-down!

Short story.

This is a 48 minute short story that went by fast. It was ok but will definitely be soon forgotten. A little too much time at the very beginning when he was trying to figure out if he'd actually seen his ex-wife or not. "YES, IT IS VANESSA!" i wanted to scream.

Narration: The narration was actually tolerable but the frequent mistakes that should have been edited out left me a little annoyed. Other than that, Mr. McElfresh did a fairly good job.
