Publisher's summary

Fairy tales are just the beginning.

The Masked Man is on the loose in the Land of Stories, and it's up to Alex and Conner Bailey to stop him...except Alex has been thrown off the Fairy Council, and no one will believe they're in danger.

With only the help of the ragtag group of Goldilocks; Jack; Red Riding Hood; and Mother Goose and her gander, Lester, the Bailey twins discover the Masked Man's secret scheme: He possesses a powerful magic potion that turns every book it touches into a portal, and he is recruiting an army of literature's greatest villains!

So begins a race through the magical Land of Oz, the fantastical world of Neverland, the madness of Wonderland, and beyond. Can Alex and Conner catch up to the Masked Man, or will they be one step behind until it's too late?

Fairy tales and classic stories collide in the fourth adventure in the best-selling Land of Stories series, as the twins travel beyond the kingdoms!

Where is the other half of the book??

I would have given this a 5 all around but book abruptly ends ... Set up for next book but no conclusion, not even a cliff hanger. I will get part 2 but at 5 hrs I feel jilted with 1/2 a story. The previous books at least had an ending of sorts.

I'm a Kid Again

I have listened to every book in the series so far. Even as an adult, the story keeps you entertained and wondering what will happen next. Chris Colfer had a GREAT imagination.

I hate cliff hangers but I love the story.

The story was great. Good job Chris Colfer. It intertwined beautifully with past storys of Alex and Connor. 5 out of 5 for the whole series.

A little too much for my kid

So my daughter, who is blind, was listening to this story. I'd put it on for her as it was one she hadn't heard in a while. I'd never listened to it but now I wish I had. I was changing out her g-tube button and while doing so heard more than I cared to hear from this story. Aside from the frequent use of the word "h*#l" which shouldn't be in a kids book, the story of how the Tin Man became the Tin Man is more than gruesome. How is this a book for kids? Normally I encourage diversity in reading, but I also exercise a little caution and age appropriate guidelines. Now, I'll bend the age rules if the book is interesting, or challenges preconceived ideas and makes my kids think from another angle, because books can open the world for you, bring you to places you never imagined, introduce you to cultures and ideas new to you. But this book, no. Just . . . no. I don't normally like to leave negative comments on books, because books are very personal, and what I don't like someone else might but if I leave a bad review maybe they won't read it and that would be a shame. So really, this is just a warning. Take age into account with this book.
