Publisher's summary

On the surface, capable teenage boys may look lazy. But dig a little deeper, writes child psychologist Adam Price in He's Not Lazy, and you'll often find conflicted boys who want to do well in middle and high school but are afraid to fail and so do not try.

This audiobook can help you become an ally with your son as he discovers greater self-confidence and accepts responsibility for his future.

Game changer

This book not only opened my eyes in way that I could “truly” help my son, but also a way to “help” myself. I searched for something to help me and the desperation I was experiencing. I knew if I was overwhelmed so was my child but yet we kept going in and out of our same cycle.

He’s Not Lazy opened my eyes, my heart and my mind to so much more than I bargained I’d get. First chapter I felt like I could breath again, such a weight lifted. By the final chapter I knew my son could and would over come his obstacles in his own time and I would survive his teenage years.

Parents who have boys with learning disabilities or boys experiencing a hard time finding out who they because you’re in their way…this is an excellent read. Game changer!

Well done

It was mostly about young men who were lazy regarding school, sprinkled with psychology of how and what their lives are like me made of.

Had some good points

If you have an opt out child, I have two, this offers up some good insight. I would say that not all opt out boys opt out the same way. How we approach raising them to be independent, self motivated, emotional and mentally healthy members of society will differ from child to child. I’ve started implementing several techniques from this book and have found them to be wonderful tools in my parenting tool box.

Great introduction into parenting of teens

As a mom of a boy whose teenage years are just starting, I got great insight into basics of such parenting. Got answers to some essential questions I was wondering. I believe that almost every parent will connect with issues discussed in the book. The narration also made it an easy listen.

Good advice

I will register to this as our sons get older. Lots of good information and validation for what we are already trying to do.

Very enlightening

Really helped me step back and look at things from a distance so I could be more objective and compassionate. May be hard to make plans without a physical book where I can mark pages and go back to passages for goal making, but being an audio book made it easier to get through it. I may have to listen multiple times.

Life altering read!

I have read at least four books in the matter, looking for guidance and information on the subject matter. This is by far, by far, the most helpful book I have read regarding raising boys.
The way the author explains everything is full proof, it’s simple yet You gain the sophisticated knowledge that you need. Catch I 100% recommend this book for everyone who is raising children.

Excellent Book

I was looking for a book with great content & advice on dealing with my 14 year old son who lacked motivation. Recommended by his school counselor, I took the leap. This book exceeded my expectations. I listened to it a year ago & still find myself referring back to it. The narration is decent also.
