Valuable knowledge

This is a terrific guide and chock full of interesting and valuable knowledge about running – from your running hormones to your running brain, and more. I'm an active and fairly fit 61 year old woman. To me, skiing (downhill & Nordic), cycling, kayaking, and now, running, in the rural area where I live (too far from a gym) are the best ways for me to maintain and build healthy bone density. The chapter on connective tissue (bones, etc) addresses knee injuries & osteoarthritis in detail (had to share that section with my husband who thought I was going to ruin my knees). None of those disgusting drugs that a Dr recently recommended I take!

Contains many useful information

I don't say a " must listen book" but a " must have book" for any type of runners (or trainers) from amateurs to elite athletes. The book has very valuable information about how to plan a training routine, how to feed and how to avoid injuries, which you will need to check over and over during your preparation. Not only runners but also any kind of sports people can get advantage from it because it contains many useful information about human anatomy and results of important scientific researches about sports performance. The only downturn of it is, tables in the books are not easy to read in the kindle edition; so I strongly recommend to buy.

I have really enjoyed listening this audiobook

I have really enjoyed listening this audiobook as it is both interesting and well explained. As someone very steeped in the philosophy of more is better when it comes to exercise and physical activity, I am both intrigued and skeptical of the overall theory.

The information in this audiobook was a real eye-o

The information in this audiobook was a real eye-opener. I never thought I would be doing any high intensity training in my life. However, convinced that lifting weights was going to be good for me

Best!

Agree with several others that this covers many, many key issues with running. I have some books that are better on specific parts of running, however this is the best overall book I have. I bought two additional books for friends.

Contained lots of information!

It’s a very comprehensive book and has lots of information about strength training, improving nervous system, food, strengthening connective tissue, etc. etc. I really like all the exercises for injury prevention! Tons of information. If there is a critique, I think it is that the running plans are often a bit overly complex. If you are a new runner or not terribly serious you will have to modify the run plans to fit your needs. However, the information is all there to make those decisions.

Great audiobook

I've been running for 16 plus years, but only last year started getting serious about training plans. It made a huge difference. After hitting my 40s, I took 35 minutes off my marathon, and felt better than ever. This book is helping me build on that. This book helps discuss an overall plan for pre, during, and post race. I knew a lot of what's in here, but there was also a lot that was new to me. A lot of what is in here just makes sense. Great book.
