Really getting into this series now

Having defeated one architect doesn't mean that January knows how to defeat all architects, or even if she should. With the heightened trips to different worlds, reality - or virtual reality - begins to blur.

Book 2 finds January struggling with coming to terms with the world in which she lives, but however "unrealistic" her world is, the danger and fear is still tangible and she will have to decide how to face it and live with it.

The plot develops really well in this book and although I called the plot twist at the end, it doesn't make it any less satisfying. This series is full of action, mysteries and the different worlds tickle at your imagination throughout the tale.

dystopian meets detective noir wrapped in Matrix

Another great book by Seth Rain! This one continues to follow January Day as she struggles to come to terms with her new abilities. Should she use them to fix the broken worlds or will it send her over the edge? And who can she trust?

If you are looking for a world that mixes the Matrix with dystopian noir, you really should check out the Imagined Realities series.

I really enjoyed the audiobook (though I still wasn't really sure about the narrator). She read it a little slow. I bumped the speed to 1.25 and it worked out perfectly.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Playing God in alternate worlds has consequences

Received an audio copy from the author to review, this is an honest review. Narrated beautifully by Emily Mount continues the ever increasing complicated adventure Detective January Day finds herself embroiled in. All January Day wants is for the criminals like Whitaker that have made Gehen City their dark personal playground, leaving Jan with a sense of hopelessness that the police can do nothing to change it. When she stumbles upon the ability to traverse to alternate realities, January discovers finds herself with a way to bring these in these worlds that would cause harm to justice. What starts out a doing the right thing slowly spirals out of control as the bodies of criminal pile up but January cannot remember killing them. Is she losing her mind or something else? Piecing the the bizarre puzzle together has Jan crossing paths with one of the powerful architect called Hecate with dire consequences to those January cares about that come with Hecate's involvement. The second chapter in this hauntingly beautiful series is full of poignant and profound depth of character and adventure, highly recommended.

filler and not a real story

lots of times one character would ask the other to explain something but they never do, the author forgets this and a few pages later in a different setting they will ask again, but NOTHING is ever explained! also in the end all the realities are sitting on servers in ONE room so why do the architects find them almost impossible to find and destroy? also, the
lead character is a copy of his terminally ill wife, until she is not because he loads Day’s condor conscience into it, what?! isn’t your wife incurable dude! again, filler.
