Soren Petrek est avocat et auteur américain passionné par la Seconde Guerre mondiale. S’inspirant en outre de ses recherches historiques, sa poésie et ses romans reflètent l’horreur de la guerre, et mettent à l’honneur les actes de bravoure des hommes et des femmes. Il est, entre autres, l’auteur de la série à succès Madeleine Toch. Marié et père de deux enfants, il vit et travaille à St. Paul, dans le Minnesota.
