Publisher's summary
An effective, positive, and nonjudgmental parenting approach to help you form an empathetic bond and close relationship with your kids.
If you feel tired, frustrated, and very upset because your child constantly disobeys you, is rude to you, and never listens to you, listen on….
While there are no bad kids, more often than not, there are also no bad parents. Where parents tend to go wrong lies in their discipline methods. Poor behavior from kids can drive any parent crazy, but reacting based on emotions can be the worst foundation for discipline. So why not try a different approach?
Connect before you correct your kids! This model recognizes that parents are humans and are bound to make mistakes. It also offers ways to repair what has been broken and encourages a closer relationship between you and your kids.
This book offers a framework that demonstrates how to effectively communicate with your child. It also provides tools that improve the bond between you and your kids, build resilience in your children, and bring out the best in you.
In this book, you will:
- Understand certain checkpoints for parenting and the need for acceptance
- Find out more about kids’ brain development and how it affects your relationship with them
- Learn how to use gentle discipline to win your child’s trust and get them to do what you want – the right thing
- Discover how to become a better parent and make one of the hardest jobs on earth easier
- Gain access to strategies you can use to fill your child’s love cup and connect with them better
- And much more!
There is no one right way to make a better connection with kids. However, this book discusses the ways that have worked best for me and many parents around me. These ways can work for you, too. Buy this book and start living a meaningful and enjoyable life with your kids today!
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Now Say This guides parents through a highly practical three-step approach to effectively communicating with children called ALP. It also discusses the power of words in all of our daily conversations. Each chapter addresses a different aspect of parenting and includes actual scripts and precise language for parents to use to set limits with empathy and to use conversations as opportunities for learning. Language is powerful, and the exact words, tone, and nonverbal communication parents use when trying to move through a sticky moment with their child means everything.

Story
Parenting isn't rocket science, it's just brain surgery. And Dr. Joshua Straub has good news for you: You can do it! You don't need to do all the "right" things as a parent. Both science and the Bible show us that the most important thing we can provide for our kids is a place of emotional safety. In other words, the posture from which we parent matters infinitely more than the techniques of parenting. Emotional safety - more than any other factor - is scientifically linked to raising kids who live, love, and lead well.

Understanding the development of my children's brains was eye-opening. It helped me see that their behavior is often a result of their stage of development. Armed with this knowledge, I learned how to tailor my expectations and responses accordingly, creating an environment that nurtures their growth and resilience. The gentle discipline strategies outlined in the book are really helpful too.

Helpful Concept
This is an excellent recording that every new parent ought to have in their collection. The author offers insightful advice from her life experiences and approaches parenting with a level head and a compassionate spirit.
The fact that this book places such great emphasis on assisting parents in working through their own difficulties is something that I really appreciate. Doing so makes it possible to become the kinds of parents that we all aspire to be. I believe that we all want to have a deep bond with our children, and we also want to have patience with them and treat them with respect; yet, anxiety and irritation can get in the way. We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn how to handle our own problems first and then to direct our children toward being courteous and well-behaved.

Resonated with me so much!
As a father who is always on the lookout for the best strategies to help raise my own son, I cannot recommend "Connection B4 Correction" enough! This audiobook is filled with practical advice that is easy to implement and has already made a world of difference in my relationship with my son.
One of the highlights of this audiobook is the emphasis it places on building a strong connection with your child before focusing on correcting their behavior. This was a game-changer for me, as I often found myself getting frustrated and reacting based on my emotions. By taking the time to connect with my child and build trust, I have seen a noticeable improvement in his behavior and our communication.
The narrator was also a pleasure to listen to and made the experience even more enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the real-life examples and anecdotes that were shared throughout the book, which made it easy to relate to and apply the strategies to my own life.
Overall, "Connection B4 Correction" is a must-listen for any parent looking to build a strong bond with their child and create a nurturing and supportive environment for them to grow and thrive.

Bond First & Correct Children Later
Connection B4 Correction is a strategic approach to parenting from the author's perspective in sharing her own experiences, making this more personable for the listener. The examples and strategies are clear and easy to follow. Parents can feel comfortable that they are not starting out taking the blame, but neither are the children. The approach is more holistic and caring, which encourages open communication. An authoritarian style comes across as closed communication for the child, resulting in anger for both. However, many households have these experiences. I highly recommend this audiobook for parenting children the right way to build a relationship before disciplining them. Otherwise, not only will children talk back to their parents, they could also do the opposite and become quiet (shut down and stop talking) by internalizing their feelings, which can cause unhealthy consequences.

Khang does it again
Khang’s delivery of powerful approaches to parenting that create meaningful and lasting family bonds is unparalleled.
Kidd’s expert narration is friendly, absorbable, and creates a learning environment that is easy to digest on the treadmill, in the car, or just doing chores about the house. It’s an easy listen that accelerates parental skills easily and effectively.
This book shines an often much needed floodlight on the approaches many parents are taking that just may not be as effective as they could be.
Khang’s methods to parenting come from a place of caring and experience, and she does not berate parents for their current strategies; she simply offers a new, more effective paradigm.
This book covers communication, discipline, emotions, and so much more.
A brilliant toolkit for any parent’s library.
