Publisher's summary

God initiates the move toward mankind and wants to be in relationship with the world. It is seemingly not that simple to understand that God wants to know us, to be with us, to communicate with us, and have a communion of hearts melted together. However, in this book, we will explore how three personalities in the Bible; Moses, Elijah, and John learned through a divine revelation of God of how they should act toward God and man. They changed and became what others could not see, but they became that which God saw in them. They did not have to care of how they saw themselves, or how others saw them, but they came to understand how God saw them and it was in that revelation that change occurred. We for years have tried to separate man into two disjointed factions, the spiritual and the psychological, and then the social. We are one unit fitted together by God to be all that he ordained us to be. We have tried to live out this relationship with God and have been disappointed as to the outcome and we say it is just, "too hard." But Jesus gave us one command that was exact and that is to love God, love your neighbor, and love yourself. Love is seemingly the common factor, but since God is love, God is the glue that binds the command into one. We will see in this book how each highlighted character as mentioned in the Bible follows a pattern that starts and ends with God alone. We seek God, but long after God has been seeking us. We are whole only when we are whole in God. As a professional counselor, I have seen the trauma people often go through trying to find peace outside of God, when the only peace is through God and His presence in our lives. This book explores wellness from the theologian's perspective and the psychologist's perspective of man's desire to be complete. However, it only comes through a relationship with God AND a right relationship with others. You cannot split oneself into two diverse individuals. All our relationships can be under the guidance of our God. It sounds simple but it is not simplistic. It sounds easy, but it is not trite. It is a huge step to have God reveal himself to you and then for you to make a response. This book is about that response.
