Publisher's summary
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." (Rev: 1-3)
The books of the Bible were written at different times by different authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years from around 1,400 BC through AD 90. The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew, excluding the books written during "the Chaldean captivity" such as Daniel and Ezra which were written in "Biblical Aramaic" during the "Chaldean captivity".
Many of the books of the Old Testament bear the names of the prophets who authored them. Moses compiled the earlier parts of Genesis and directly authored the remaining portion. David wrote much of Psalms while Solomon wrote the books of The Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes. The Books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel bear the names of the prophets who wrote them. The Old Testament books of the minor prophets bear the author's name as well.
The four New Testament Gospels were pinned by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The Apostle Paul pinned authorship to 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament. The authorship of the remaining 10 books of the New Testament belongs to the disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Hebrew Bible was then translated into Greek and finally into English. John Wycliffe first translated the entire Bible (both Old and New Testaments) into English in 13th-century England. William Tyndale translated the Bible into English in 15th-century England. The King James translators used the Tyndale and Wycliffe translations in the publishing of the King James Bible in 1611, commonly referred to as "The Holy Bible".
Alexander Scourby was the first to record the King James Bible on audio in the early 1950s. Since then, millions have been sold the world over. Although many have recorded the Bible over the years, no one could ever match Scourby's unparalleled and majestic reading. The combination of Alexander Scourby reading the King James Bible is an incomparable hearing experience.
The Chicago Tribune wrote that "Alexander Scourby has the greatest voice ever recorded."

Story
The 19th century was an age that witnessed great progress in many areas of exploration and learning. However, according to J. C. Ryle, it was an age of great ignorance too. What particularly distressed Ryle was the scant knowledge of the English Reformation evident amongst his contemporaries. In this lay a grave danger: one of the reasons so many congregations drift from their evangelical foundations is their sheer ignorance of Christian history, and their lack of understanding of the major doctrinal controversies and why they matter.

John Bunyan admitted he was one of the worst sinners to have ever lived. But after converting to Christianity, he was constantly amazed by the fact that God saved him from his wrongdoings. As a minister of the Gospel, he loved to proclaim the grace of God to sinners, and he earnestly persuaded them to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ. Published in 1688, the year of his death, The Jerusalem Sinner Saved brings together the fruit of Bunyan's thoughts on the grace of forgiveness.

Story
The modern church is in need of a revival. But as author Paul Washer contends, "We cannot simply do what is right in our own eyes and then expect the Holy Spirit to come down and bless our labors." Truth be told, the devil has little need to oppose the church's prayer for revival unless God's people are seeking to live lives and order congregations according to God's word. This book examines 10 areas where churches have neglected clear biblical direction and need to prayerfully seek reformation.

Is praying a duty or a delight? J. I. Packer and Carolyn Nystrom say that it's both; an essential, expected practice as a follower of Christ, but also a privilege and joy. As we start out learning to pray properly, however, the delight often seems to be missing. Here is practical help for active, honest praying that involves all of who we are - heart, hands and head - and moves us to deeper obedience, joy and intimacy with our Father.

Easwaran's introduction places the Gita in its historical setting and brings out the universality and timelessness of its teachings. Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.
