Publisher's summary

Goal: Find a boyfriend, get married, buy a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence, and pop out 2.5 kids. Deadline: Sixty days. That's possible, right?

I'm not going to attempt a shotgun wedding or try to get knocked up by some guy I met on the internet, but there is no doubt that, this year, home for the holidays takes on a whole new, terrifying meaning. I have to travel from New York City - my home and safe haven for the last 15 years - to my tiny hometown in Vermont for Christmas, my baby sister's wedding, and my high school reunion.

Throw in Callie Camden - aka my high school class's version of Regina George - and it's a recipe for certified disaster. Especially since my mouth ran away from me when she asked me if I'd be bringing someone to our reunion, and I told her to put me down for two. Gah. Now I can't go alone.

But the online dating world is a cesspool of bad manners, speedy hookups, and outright weirdos. Handsome, single, successful - that's what I'm looking for. And it just so happens that my best friend Luke London fits all of the criteria. The only problem is best friends don't kiss....

But maybe it doesn't count if it's pretend?

Contains mature themes.

Max Monroe Gold!

This book was “feel good,” laugh-inducing, entertainment GOLD! I love a good friends-to-lovers trope and this book checked all my boxes!! Luke and Ava were so cute together and I really enjoyed reading/listening to their HEA journey. Cameos from Thatch and the whole “billionaires” crew made me smile and enhanced the entertainment value. Excellent narration. 5 stars all around. Worth your time and money? Yes!!!!

Slow start- happy ending

Not my favorite Max Monroe book. Really slow, but cute. Honestly recommend the Billionaire Series.

Cute Story

It's a cute story, though the female voice actor tends to deliver her lines flat, but that seems to be a sad trend. Once in a while there's emotion in the delivery but for the most part, it's flat. The male voice actor did a great job. The story was interesting, though not my usual type. I found it under 'erotic romance' and there is NOTHING erotic in this book. I wouldn't even classify the sex scene as erotic. It was too...sweet, too pure to be called that. It's a lovely RomCom.

Great story and great narration

What an absolutely cracking way to brighten up what has been a horrible week. I laughed so much that I nearly cried reading this book. Max and Monroe you have done it again, I was hooked from the first page to the last in Ava and Luke’s story.

There was absolutely nothing that I didn't love about Ava and Luke, both separately and especially hen they finally got together. This was a funny, laugh out loud, at times emotional read that had me receiving many funny looks from my family.

Returning home to her small town for the holidays and a school reunion, Ava finds herself in need of a boyfriend to take with her and with no prospects, she asks her best friend Luke to accompany her as her “pretend” boyfriend.

The saying, sometimes you can’t see the woods, for the trees and this is the position that both Ava and Luke are in. They have been best friends for so many years that neither see that their relationship is so much more than friendship.

The chemistry between the Ava and Luke is hard to overlook and you can feel the tension as it builds. The banter was humorous and I loved the camaraderie between them as their relationship moved from friends to lovers. For me this was a natural progression and one that made me happy.

I was thrilled to see some familiar faces make an appearance whilst reading, it really added an additional layer to my overall enjoyment of Best Friends Don’t Kiss. Max Monroe are the queens of romantic comedy and I highly recommend you read this gem of a book.

The narration by Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs brought the characters to life for me. Their voices were easy to listen to and did justice to the wonderful story that Max Monroe wove.
