on your toes

the way it was written everything seemed possible. if I was to inherit a space ship...this seems like what could possibly happen. lots of laughs....kept me on my toes ....was always wondering if he was going to get the girl. loved the narrator

Entertaining

It is so nice to have a book in the genra that I love that my 10 yr old can also read. Clean and no cursing.

Very entertaining

The great concept for a series of books. It did start off a little slow, but that’s expected when you’re getting into the whole storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to listening to the entire series

MY FAVORITE - WHINY MILITARY SYFY

Stopped ~2/3 through. Story was meh, narration a bit better. Main character whines his way through every scene. A waste of time and money. But not by far the worst out there.

decent story but no plot

I like the concept, story and characters. It moves quickly from one adventure to the next. it's fun. somewhere in the last third, I started wondering what the plot was. With so many adventures, each with its own climax, it was not clear to me if there was an overarching quest that would tie all the adventures together. it kinda did, which we found out about in the last 2 chapters. that's the disadvantage of using a single point of view throughout the book - the reader only knows what that one person knows.

The narrator ruins the story

amazing story, unfortunately the narrator is horrible and ruins this audiobook. I was continuously confusing characters, i had no idea who was talking because he did no effort to change at least a little bit the voices of the characters, also i regulares zoned out becuase of his voice and lack of emotion

Firefly meets Hitchiker's Guide

I really didn't expect much. It was a Daily Deal and I got it for $4. I've listened to dozens of such books, most are okay, some are bad, but every once in a while, you get a gem. This book is a gem. The characters are fun & have more than one dimension, the dialogue & banter is right up there with the best episodes of Firefly, and the worldbuilding is really interesting. Well done Chaney & Maggert! I'm now committed to buying the rest of the series, and all because I wanted a cheap read one afternoon.

Oh yeah!

One of my fave space operas read in a while. Cohesive story, great characters, imaginative. Firefly-esq with the thieves on the other side. I’ve already picked up book two.

This was definitely a fun book

I enjoyed the overall story it was both intriguing and entertaining while at some points in the book the pacing was a little fast however overall it was pretty good and you definitely stay invested. I'm definitely going to look forward to listening to the next book.

super fun!

I loved this audible. super fun sci-fi that is over the top. it's fairly clean which I appreciate so much. it was action packed. almost like a video game building the character and the ship. (heard that from someone else's review and it really resonated.)
so glad it was on sale. I'm running 🏃🏽‍♀️ to get book 2!
