Publisher's summary
Upon his return home from the battlefields of Europe in 1918, Col Blackwood, a UK Army infantry officer, is reunited with his family on Christmas Eve after nearly four years away. In the midst of telling his children a bedtime story, we learn of Artaban, a Magi priest, and the fourth wise man to present gifts to the newborn King. As a result of dissension among his fellow Magians, Artaban has no other choice but to embark on this journey alone. Though his quest is fraught with challenges along the way that test his courage and stir his compassion, his faith never wavers.

Powerful, Captivating, and Resonates
Fresh from battle in Europe, Col. Blackwood shares with his family the story of the 4th wise man. A fitting story of love, faith, and dedication for Christmas Eve and far more powerful than the traditional Night Before Christmas.
The author, Jason Markiewitz, adapts the Henry Van Dyke story titled The Story of the Other Wise Man vividly capturing the emotions of love, hope, faith, and determination. His use of multiple and highly talented performers enriches the narrative, bringing it to life. Having not read the Van Dyke novella, I can say I find Markiewitz’s version captivating, sparking my desire to do so. The dialogue is immersive and rich, seamlessly advancing the narrative while engaging the audience completely.
This performance by the exceptionally talented cast is compelling, captivating, and alluring. The music and array of performers blend together in this narrative naturally and seamlessly.
This audiobook is rich and captivating, leaving a lasting impact. The 4th wise man’s journey, filled with struggles, and unwavering determination resonates deeply thus inspiring the listener’s resolve and faith.
