Publisher's summary

The Wilder Brothers from NYT best-selling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continue in this emotionally charged enemies-to-lovers romance.

It took two days for me to know Kendall was the one for me.

And it took two years for me to realize I had to leave in order to protect her.

When I walked away, I told myself it was for the best. But now we work together, and every time we’re in the same room, we end up fighting. If we didn’t, we’d end up naked. Or worse–spilling heartbreaking secrets.

If she knew the truth, she’d either walk away for good or convince me to take a second chance. The first thing would break me, and the second would break her. I can’t let either of those things happen….

Second Chance Romance

Always The One For Me is book two in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Wilder Brothers series featuring Evan Wilder (ex-military hottie) and Kendall Wilder (chef and Evan’s ex-wife). The Wilder Brothers have opened a winery/ event venue after leaving the military with Kendall as the chef. Can these two work together???

This book brought all the feelings from the first chapters making me cry to the steam these two created, I was all in from the jump. A second chance romance can go either way for me but the angst, drama, pining and chemistry had me cheering for these two! I adore the other Wilder brothers and how they supported Kendall and Evan when her parents are totally wretched!

I don’t think you need to read the first book to enjoy this one. I listened to Always The One For Me and the dual narration with Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell was perfect. I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Second Chance

This is a wonderful book about second chances for the one you are meant to be with. I really like how all the Wilders stick by each other. I'm looking forward to next book. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were great narrators.

Enjoyed

I always love a story written by Carrie Ann Ryan. Love how she shares so many of the side characters in previous story. Was nice to listen to the second chance romance between Evan and Kendall. The narrators always bring the story to the next level. I visualize everything like a movie. Honestly though all the brothers with an E for their names are confusing. Wish Kendall’s parents were not in the story. That is my own personal pet peeve. I go into a story to escape so not a fan of parents who are horrible. Get why she added it to the story..but took me out of the moment. Looking forward to Everett although the name reminds me of the dog in Paw Patrol..

Loved these two!!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved getting Kendal and Evan's story. Evan had never really shared why he walked away from his wife, even with her, and so it was great to finally figure that out. It was apparent from watching the two of them interacting that they still had very deep feelings of love for each other, though they were both trying to shut those down, hence all the fighting. Eight years couldn't get rid of their connection and I loved watching them finally find their way back together. This story pulled me in from beginning to end and was so easy to read. I was sucked in with these characters and I didn't want to leave as they were trying to figure out how to move forward. This was a great story and I can't wait to see what is coming next at the Wilder Resort and Winery.

All the Feels

I have a weakness for grumpy, injured ex-military heroes. Having met Evan and Kendall in book one, One Way Back to Me, I knew their second-chance romance would be explosive, and Carrie Ann Ryan delivered ALL the feels. The chemistry between Evan and Kendall is so hot, as is the desire rolling off them. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did an excellent job and delivered such raw emotion.

Great series

This is the second book in the Wilder brothers series and we find out more about Evan and his ex wife Kendall. We see a little bit about them in the first book but this one really gets in to how they met, how they got married, and their subsequent separation. When Evan walked away from his marriage he thinks he’s doing what’s best for Kendall but he never expects to come face-to-face with her as the new chef at the Wilder retreat.

Emotional, heartfelt and amazing!

Oh my gosh, Carrie Ann has written an action packed and emotional second chance story that pulled on all my heartstrings and left me with a happy smile on my face at the end.

After a whirlwind romance and then a sudden divorce, Evan and Kendall are back in the same state. Kendall is the head chef at Wilder Winery and Evan is involved with helping run the day to day operations. But all the unresolved feelings they have are simmering start to surface.

I have been waiting patiently for Evan and Kendall’s story and I was not disappointed. I loved the timeline of the story on how we got to see their past, how they met and everything that happened up until the current time that they were in. It was such a passion filled and cute meeting and perfect for them. I really felt for Evan and all the demons he was dealing with. But in that dark was Kendall, the light he needed. Kendall is sweet, smart and has Evan’s back through it all. I loved their second chance romance and is definitely at the top of my list as one of my favorites.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were PERFECT in the audiobook. You can never go wrong listening to any book narrated by them. Both are some of the emotion driven narrators out there and are not afraid to lay it all out there. I feel every book they narrate and love each one.

Hits the right spot!

Heart wrenching hero love! Relatable heroine! Deep backstory and the hot parts, have a little turbo power (seriously, good Joe). It’s allllll about that eye contact thing. 🔥🔥🔥

I LOVED her friendship with LJ, men and women CAN be friends. This is MY kinda book. It’s two real, flawed characters, both so honest yet disconnected for many reasons that you will easily understand issues, harsh graphic images, PTSD and memories. (Maybe there should have been a trigger warning if there isn’t, I don’t usually pay attention to that.) But for me, if anything, it built my interest in the story and characters. THAT TWIST! I wish Carrie Ann would weave a little more mystery leading up to the confrontation in these stories. But combine that with two narration powerhouses Joe and Maxine…I am in my audiobook happy place.

Adorable Second Chance Story

Always the One for Me is the second book in the Wilder Brothers series. This book is about Evan Wilder and his ex-wife Kendall Wilder. This couple had met and married 10 years prior to where this book had begun. For reasons Kendall does not know Evan had filed for divorce two years into the marriage.

Years later Kendall and Evan are working together and constantly bickering. When Kendall decides its time to truly move on from her divorce and instead of flings start to seriously date, Evan cannot handle that news and gets his head out of his butt and realizes he needs Kendall in his life to be happy.

Evans reasoning for divorcing Kendall is heartbreaking, but also if i was Kendall i would not forgive as easily as she did. The character development was great. The side characters were amazing. I did feel so much heartbreak for Maddie and I hope in the next book she does date someone else and Elijah has to experience the same heartbreak she had to endure for two books. I don't think I can enjoy another book with her pining after him and him not noticing. Especially with how many times this book brought up how in love with Elijah she is and he's with someone else.

I did like how even though Evan only has one leg he did not use it at a crutch for his struggles. And how when it came to Kendall's family he was still behind her even when they were not together because he understood how much they hurt her even after all these years.

I really liked this book and you do not have to read it in order to enjoy and understand everything. I cannot wait for the third book to come out.
