Alice Cordell is stronger than the leg she stands on. She is tired of people feeling sorry for her because of her disability. He decides to stay only long enough to take care of his deceased father’s affairs. He didn’t know that included the beautiful caretaker who shows up, not realizing that her soon-to-be employer has passed. Not wanting to see Alice on the street, he allows her to stay as his housekeeper. What he doesn’t expect is for her to see behind his gruff exterior and remind him of why he became a doctor.
But the people of Fox Creek do not welcome Niall or trust him to be the town doctor. Can a forced marriage bring the doctor out of retirement without risking his heart? Can Alice heal the doctor and lift the cloud of mistrust hovering over him. Will she find her own place in a community shrouded with secrets?
